Newspapers From Across Iowa Endorse Hillary Clinton for President

No Daily Newspapers have Endorsed Donald Trump

Newspapers from across Iowa are endorsing Hillary Clinton for President. To date, no daily newspapers in the Hawkeye state have endorsed Donald Trump. The Cedar Rapids Gazette today endorsed a Democrat for president for the first time since 1964.

During the final debate this past week, Hillary Clinton laid out her vision for America: "It's really up to all of us to demonstrate who we are and who our country is and to stand up and be very clear about what we expect from our next president, how we want to bring our country together, where we don't want to have the kind of pitting of people one against the other, where instead we celebrate our diversity, we lift people up, and we make our country even greater. America is great because America is good."

Cedar Rapids Gazette: Clinton for President
October 23, 2016
Excerpt: Hillary Clinton is arguably the most broadly prepared candidate for presidency in the history of the office. Her long history of public service has included serving as first lady in Arkansas and in Washington, D.C. In both positions, she strove to be an active force in driving public policies to better the lives of American families, women and children. She continued that work as a U.S. senator from New York, where she fought for important improvements in pediatric drug safety and equal pay for equal work. As U.S. secretary of state, she traveled the globe representing the U.S. and spreading the message of democracy.

Mason City Globe Gazette: Hillary Clinton is Best Option for President
October 23, 2016
Excerpt: This race will define the United States for at least the next four years. We must elect a president who has the experience, the ability and the demeanor to do the job, not a person who flies off the handle at a mere tweet, a person failing in so many ways as Trump. That is why we endorse Hillary Clinton for president of the United States.

Quad City Times: Presidential endorsement: Clinton is the only option for president
October 23, 2016
Excerpt: There's just one serious candidate seeking the White House. And that's Hillary Clinton.

Iowa City Press-Citizen: Clinton the best and only choice
October 22, 2016
Excerpt: We endorse her with the knowledge she will start work immediately, and do her best to restore a badly shaken confidence in American politics wrought by this election cycle. It's a monumental task, and we do not envy her for shouldering it. For all the vitriol that has characterized this long campaign season, it's nothing compared with the presidency. But Hillary Clinton is up to the challenge.

Iowa State Daily: ISD Editorial Board Endorsements
October 20, 2016
Excerpt: Instead of focusing on what separates us, Clinton’s campaign has focused on building upon the diversity that makes the United States what it's meant to be and creating a middle class that can provide a backbone for the U.S. economy.

Des Moines Register: Clinton a vote for American values
October 15, 2016
Excerpt: On Election Day, all of us share the privilege and responsibility of protecting the principles on which this country was founded and for which so many others have died: justice, liberty, equality and opportunity for all. In this particular election, only one of the two major-party candidates stands prepared to honor America and uphold its highest ideals. The Des Moines Register endorses Hillary Clinton for president.

The Hawk Eye: Our Endorsement - Hillary Clinton
October 9, 2016
Excerpt: Hillary Clinton should be — and we believe will be — the next president of the United States. It will be as historic an election — the first woman to be elected president — as it was in 2008 when Barack Obama became the first black American to win the presidency.

Clinton Herald: Why Hillary Clinton is Best Choice for President
October 8, 2016
Excerpt: Hillary Clinton’s record of public service and detailed knowledge of the complex and imposing issues the nation will confront in the next four years make her the superior choice to become the next president.
