One of the more creative anti-Romney
efforts is Dogs Against Romney. Scott Crider, a digital creative director, social media
strategist, interactive marketing specialist, professional blogger, and
professional speaker from Gulf Shores, AL, started the Dogs
against Romney blog in June 2007. (Hi. I'm Rusty. Mitt
Romney is mean to dogs. Help me get my message out). Crider
reported that he received over one million visitors in ten days.
This cycle he has produced merchandise including buttons,
bumperstickers, tee shirts, mugs and yard signs and is even has
coordinated on a
book and a mobile game.

Dallas,
Texas
Censault™, a digital publisher of
connected games and applications for
mobile devices, announced today the planned release of The Crate
Escape: Seamus Unleashed game. Designed to be both fun
and to communicate a positive social message, the game features Seamus,
the
now-famous Irish Setter, and satirizes presidential candidate Mitt
Romney’s
notorious “dog-on-car-roof” incident.
Censault
allied
with
Watchdog
Interactive,
LLC,
owned by Scott Crider and Morgan
Robinson-Crider, the founders of Dogs
Against Romney, to promote and market the game. “We have over
65,000 passionate
supporters in Dogs Against Romney whom I know will love this game,”
Crider
said. “In addition to being fun and hilarious, it raises awareness
about a
shocking incident of animal cruelty.”
The Crate Escape: Seamus Unleashed game will launch to the
public as a
free download for the iPhone and iPad on “National Dog Day,” August 26
– one
day before the Republican National Convention.
“We believe
this game is the first serious offering in an exciting new genre of
games that
are designed to be fun enough to engage large numbers of players in
learning
and sharing positive social messages,” said Jim Chase, Chief Product
officer at
Censault. “In the era of consumers being able to skip ads on TV, these
games
provide non-profits, activists, and socially-conscious brands an
exciting new
way to engage people in helping to change the world.”
The Crate Escape: Seamus Unleashed game plans to offer
upgrades and
in-game purchase opportunities that will let players help raise funds
for
important causes ranging from breast cancer research to veterans causes
and
more.
“We have
ambitious goals for 2013 and beyond,” said Andy Berryman, Chief
Marketing
Officer of Censault. “Several more games are in the pipeline.”

Dogs

Romney
Coordinating with Touchstone/Simon & Schuster on
Launch of
New Book, DOG ON THE ROOF! On
the Road with Mitt and the Mutt
Dogs
Against
Romney will be coordinating with Simon & Schuster next month to
help with the launch of the new book, DOG ON THE
ROOF! On the Road with Mitt
and
the Mutt by political
satirists Bruce Kluger and David Slavin, with illustrations by Colleen
Clapp.
Touchstone/Simon
&
Schuster began notifying media today of the book’s impending release,
saying, “they were the typical American family on a typical American
road trip
– Dad behind the wheel, Mom in the passenger seat, their five adorable
kids
piled in the back seat. And, of course, their beloved dog strapped to
the roof.
Wait…what?”
Scott
Crider,
founder of the grassroots phenomenon Dogs
Against Romney, was contacted by representatives of the publisher last
month, who asked him if he would help promote the book via social
media. “I am
delighted to help promote DOG
ON THE ROOF,” Crider said, “because it provides a hilarious look at a
character-illuminating
issue about Mitt Romney.”
In
June,
when the book is released to the public, Dogs Against
Romney will
be offering its more than 53,000
Facebook page members the opportunity to win free copies of the book
and other
promotional items.
“It’s
a
testament to not just the public’s continuing interest in this story,”
Crider
said, “but to the growing influence of the Dogs
Against Romney community. They contacted us because can have a big
impact
on this book’s success.”
DOG
ON
THE ROOF! On the Road with
Mitt and the Mutt chronicled
by political satirists Bruce Kluger and David Slavin, and cleverly
illustrated
by Colleen Clapp, will
be available from Touchstone
/ Simon & Schuster June 19, 2012. It is
the inside (well…overhead) look at the Man Who Would Be President and
the wild ride that’s sweeping – and bewildering
– the nation.
Ed. Note. Scott
Crider was not the only one to pursue this theme. In March 2012
Mitt is Mean - The Animal Lovers Against Romney Committee super PAC
formed (chairman Neil McCarthy). According to the mission
statement: "Mitt is Mean is a group of animal lovers
and pet owners who want to make the case against the coldblooded and
calculating Wall Street CEO. We will fight a targeted online
campaign against Romney in the
battleground states focused on Romney’s indifference to the suffering
and pain of Seamus and Americans families." Crider endorsed the effort
in June.

ROMNEY FOUNDER ENDORSES MITT IS MEAN SUPERPAC
Boston,
MA-Today, the founder of Dogs against Romney, Scott Crider
endorsed the SuperPAC, Mitt IS Mean. Crider will also serve as a
volunteer adviser to the SuperPac.
Dogs Against Romney is a national group of pet lovers who believe that
Mitt Romney’s abuse of his dog Seamus is a window into the GOP
nominee’s soul. You may have heard the story. In 1983, the Romney
family took a vacation and drove 12 hours to Canada from the Romney
mansion in Massachusetts. During the entire trip, the family’s Irish
setter, Seamus was exiled to a crate strapped on top of the station
wagon. When Seamus answered the call of nature and rained on the Romney
parade, mean Mitt hosed the car and poor Seamus down.
“Dogs against Romney is a pack, not a PAC” said Crider. “Our members
are eager to do more and need a PAC they can support. I decided to get
behind Mitt is Mean because the group has been working around the clock
to focus attention on Romney’s cruel indifference to people and pets.
If he treated his family dog that way how do you think he’ll treat
people he doesn’t know.”
Marty Dunleavy, a senior adviser to Mitt is Mean stated that he was
“happy to have Scott Crider and Dogs against Romney on board because we
both want to expose Mitt Romney for the mean spirited guy he really is.
The GOP presidential candidate has already made it clear that he
doesn’t care about the problems of poor people, homeowners and working
families.”
Brad Bannon, spokesman for Mitt is Mean pointed out that “Romney is the
guy who put his dog in a crate on top of a car for 12 hours, likes to
fire people, bullied a prep school classmate and supports the GOP Mean
Machine budget which cuts federal aid for prenatal care.”
