Sept. 18, 2009--Gov. Tim
Pawlenty (R-MN) told
attendees of the Value Voters Summit, "At
every turn, at every gathering we should start with first things
first by thanking and acknowledging God."
Pawlenty, who finishes his second term in 2010 and is not
seeking
re-election, is seen as a likely 2012 presidential candidate. He
stated, "If
we – if I and the Republicans in Minnesota and the
conservatives can govern Minnesota and make a difference and make
progress with conservative goals and values and principles in mind, as
Frank Sinatra said, 'If you can do it there, you can do it
anywhere.'" [transcript]
Former RNC press secretary Alex Conant, Phil Musser (New Frontier
Strategy) and Greg Mueller (Creative Response Concepts) accompanied
Pawlenty at the summit. |
