Who
We Are (0:52)
I'm Joshua Levine from Americans
Elect. We're a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization with the sole
purpose of building a website and gathering signatures to put the
people's choice for president on the ballot in every state. We
don't contribute to candidates or any group. We don't accept
contributions from candidates, from candidate committees, from
corporations, nor from special interest groups. Americans Elect
only accepts contributions from individuals and limits contributions to
under $10,000. We don't advocate for any political ideology or
special interests. You can learn more about our leadership on
this section of the website.
About
Us/The Process (1:11)
Hey, I'm Howard. Thanks for
checking out Americans Elect. For as long as anyone can remember,
the two parties have been controlling our choices for President.
But we think the American people should have their choice on the ballot
too. With Americans Elect we now have the platform to do just
that. This election you have the power to nominate a president,
not the parties or the special interests. Traditionally the
parties have sent their delegates to their convention to nominate a
candidate on behalf of the rest of us. With Americans Elect every
voter, regardless of their political party, can sign up, become a
delegate and cast their own vote for their own choice. It's
democracy at its most basic. The process involves four
steps.
First, define your true colors beyond
simply red or blue,
by setting your political priorities and answering nine core
questions.
Next you'll personally shape the debate
by submitting
and voting on the questions that all candidates will be required to
answer.
Then you'll match with candidates who best share your
views or even draft new ones.
And finally, you'll cast your vote
for the first directly nominated presidential ticket in U.S. history.
Volunteering (0:44)
[Music] Hi, I'm Laura. There's no better way to make a bigger impact than by becoming an Americans Elect volunteer. In fact thousands of delegates from around the country are already volunteering, but we can always use more. As a volunteer you'll host MeetUps of Americans Elect delegates, help to spread the word and get more people to sign up. Every delegate you bring in just makes your voice even stronger. So even if you don't become a volunteer right now, we encourage you to sign up at least one other person and to use social media to help get the word out to your friends and family. [Music]
Giving
Feedback (0:48)
[Music] Hi, I'm Laura, and if you've ever submitted any feedback to the site, I'm the one who answers it. I"m going to show you around the "News" section. This is where you can read the blog posts about what's been going on, watch clips of our television appearances, and read key articles about current politics. You can also see what delegates from around the country have to say, and in the "Official Documents" section you can check out our Bylaws, rules for drafting, and other documents governing the process. On the right side of your screen you can also contact us via the Feedback tab which I will personally do my best to respond to. [Music]
Badges (0:28)
[Music] Hi, I'm Laura. As you begin participating in
Americans Elect, you'll begin to earn badges. The more you get
involved, the more badges you'll earn. From the Rockefeller to
the Uncle Sam, you'll earn them for things like answering questions,
making a donation, sharing with friends and family, and of course
bringing in new delegates. [Music]
Notes: These had scant
viewership...possibly just put up on YouTube and not linked to from the
group's website.
