Friends of Herman Cain

"Herman Cain Stands with Us - Merrie" +
  1:35 web video from Aug. 25, 2011.

[Music]

Merrie Thomsen: I am an American.

My name's Merrie Thomsen.  I'm a mother of three boys...

"Pierce, do not land on your brother!"

...and my husband's a firefighter.

My husband Jerry and I did the 9/11 Rose float because we wanted to honor the ten-year anniversary of 9/11.

My life for a year was all about 9/11.  It was emotional, draining, but wonderful at the same time.  It was a labor of love.

9/11 means for me that our world changed forever.

I would choose Herman Cain and my leader because he follows my values.

He's a hard worker, he's a problem solver and most importantly he's not a politician.

This is a scary time.  When my mom is worrying about whether her Social Security check is going to come in the mail, whether my uncle, who was a vet from Vietnam, is concerned that his benefits are going to run out, and all these people, including myself work very hard.  Where are we going?

We need somebody who's got a clear path, and somebody who's got the knowledge to get us through this hard time.

We need to get those politicians out, and we need to get a businessperson in.

I stand with Herman Cain, because Herman Cain stands with us.

Notes: 9/11 has not been much of a subject in the campaign thus far, but the tenth anniversary of the attacks is upcoming.
