"The Moment" +
:30 ad run starting Jan. 17, 2011 in SC.

[Music] TEXT: Who Can Beat Barack Obama?

Male Announcer:  Only Newt Gingrich can beat Obama.

Gingrich (clips from debate): “…More people have been put on food stamps by Barack Obama than any President in history.”

“I believe every American of every background has been endowed by their Creator with the right to pursue happiness and if that makes liberals unhappy I’m going to continue to find ways to help poor people learn how to get a job, learn how to get a better job, and learn some day to own the job.” [standing ovation...sustained applause]

Gingrich: I’m Newt Gingrich and I approve this message.

Notes: From the Jan. 17 press release:

Newt 2012 released its new television ad featuring “the moment” from last night’s Fox News debate in South Carolina, during which Newt Gingrich received the only standing ovation of the 15 Republican debates.

On the campaign trail today in Myrtle Beach, Florence, Columbia and Aiken, the buzz and momentum are clearly with Newt Gingrich as he consolidates conservative support around him. The new ad, which begins airing in South Carolina tonight, reminds voters that Newt Gingrich is the only candidate who is tough enough to go toe-to-toe in debates with Barack Obama and defeat him in November.
