Jon Huntsman for President

"Mitting Image" +
  1:43 web video from Dec. 7, 2011.

[Music] Romney: In politics it's pretty much standard operating procedure that when you're running for office you look at your opponent's record...and you say they're a flip-flopper.  But in this case, this guy really is.

clips of reporters/pundits:
To some degree with Mitt Romney, the problem's not the flip, it's the flop.

He's got stuff with national health care, he's got that abortion issue...

  ...choice issues and global warming...

He didn't become pro-life until he began to run for president.

Romney: They pointed out just how many places he had changed positions.  And I've tried to think why it is that he has changed so often, why he finds it so difficult to come down on one side of an issue...

clips of reporters
:
Mitt Romney doggedly refused to take a position...

He was one of the last GOP contenders to do so...

Romney gave the generic, almost non-commital answer.

Romney: I'm not speaking about the particular ballot issues...

Romney: I wasn't taking a position on those...

Romney
: It stems from the fact that he is very conflicted, that he is drawn in two different directions very powerfully.  If he's with an audience he gets, he wants to identify with and satisfy that audience and will say what he thinks they want to hear...

Romney (clip from U.S. Senate campaign)
: Look I was an independent during the time of Reagan-Bush.  I'm not trying to return to Reagan-Bush.

Romney (clip from 2008 campaign): The right course is the one championed by Ronald Reagan 30 years ago and by John McCain and Sarah Palin today.

Romney
:...and as a result he ends up not sounding like he can take a position one way or the other.
