Fred Karger Presidential Exploratory Committee

"Good Morning New Hampshire" +
Aired statewide on WMUR-TV on Sept. 18, 2010, went into six more NH markets on Sept. 20, and continued running through Sept. 24.  Note: This is the 1:21 web version.
Shot by filmmaker John Keitel.

[Music] Karger (live sound): "Hey Katie, it's Fred Karger..."  "Tammy, hi this is Fred Karger."  "Hey, John, it's Fred Karger."

Karger (to camera): Fred who?

Karger (live sound): Hi.

Karger (to camera): That's me, Fred Karger.

Karger (voiceover): I need some help from my friends here in New Hampshire.

I'm back in the Granite State.

Karger (to camera): I'm strongly considering running for President in 2012.

NH Voices: a) For President?  b) I heard you say something about President.  c) Tell me about yourself then.

Karger (to camera): I'm an independent Republican from Laguna Beach, California.

NH Voices: a) No kidding!  b) I'm a Republican... so I was interested to hear especially about an independent Republican.

Karger (voice over and to camera): I've worked as a political consultant and strategist for over 30 years.

Karger (live sound): I've never run before.

Karger (voice over): I want to help bring back the American spirit just as my old boss Ronald Reagan did.

Karger (live sound): I want to open the flaps of the tent and let everyone in.

[Music up tempo]

Karger (live sound): Are you old enough for a frisbee?

Karger (voice over): I would be the candidate of bold, new ideas.

Karger (live sound): I want to shake it up a little.

I'm calling myself an independent Republican.

NH Voice: So am I.

Karger (to camera): But before I run for President I need your help.

Karger (live sound): Hey! (waving)  NH Voices: Fred!

Karger (voice over): I'm testing the waters in New Hampshire to see if I can raise some funds from my friends.

NH Voices: [Cheers]

Karger (voice over): That will help determine the next step.

Karger to camera: Please help me out by going to FredKarger.com.

Karger (voice over): Check out the web site.

Karger (to camera and voice over): Sign up and make a contribution today.

NH Voice: Good luck.  Karger: Well, thank you.

NH Voices: a) Well we'll keep an eye on you.  b) Nice to meet you Fred.

Karger (camera): Thank you, New Hampshire.

Notes: This is the first ad run by a potential presidential candidate in the 2012 cycle.  It features a lot of short clips of Karger in New Hampshire woven together to create a fast-paced narrative.  There are also some light moments such as Karger shaking hands with the cardboard cutout of Reagan, and, of course, the coveted Fred frisbees are seen.
