Obama: Hi everybody.  I've got a pretty big announcement about that contest the campaign is running where you can join me for dinner.  We're setting another place at the table for Joe Biden, who wants to join us.  So this isn't so much dinner with Barack anymore as it is dinner with Barack and Joe.  To use one of his favorite expressions, that's a big deal.  We're both really looking forward to it.  Hope to see you soon.

 

Notes: Fundraising video.  Among the comments this inspired was an amusing one from "TheDanielHollister": "Set a place at the table for Michelle, then we'll talk."

An interesting follow-up to this video developed three weeks later on July 18, when the RNC "called on the Department of Justice to investigate whether or not President Barack Obama broke federal election laws by conducting illegal political fundraising activity in the White House."  The DNC responded that the charge was "a disgraceful, desperate and politically-motivated attempt at getting headlines."
