Obama for America

"The Time to Do It is Now" +
  1:07 web video from Nov. 10, 2011.

[Nat. sound...crowd noise] Man: I'm ?Ralston from Miami, Florida.  [Music]  I'm in Tampa today to help the President get re-elected.

I worked for the Obama campaign in the primaries and the general election in '08, and I'm all fired up to do it again.  I hope to get other people involved the same way that I was in 2008.  It was the first time that I thought I could do something.

We're learning how to use social media, we're learning how to get canvassing going, to get phone banking going.

Right now you have a chance that everything you do is multiplied more because there's much more time and it's much less stressful and everything that you do has a much bigger payoff down the road.  It's like when you plant something, you'll get a bigger harvest—if you plant it earlier—when harvest time comes. And if you invest and start saving for retirement, if you start early, you'll have more.  And it's the same way for elections, so I encourage people to start as early as they can.  The time to do it is now; there's plenty of things to be done.

Notes: This video continues the Obama campaign's focus on its volunteers.  It was originally posted Nov. 8 with the title "OFA Florida Tampa Volunteer Conference: Fired up to Recruit Volunteers and Organize," and according to CG text at the beginning of the video the event took place on Oct. 1, 2011.
