Obama (Feb. 24, 2009): The recovery plan we passed is the first step in getting our economy back on track...  Over the next two years this plan will save or create 3.5 million jobs.

TEXT: And the right way
TEXT: 4 Core Principles

Perry: One is don't spend all of the money. [cheers, applause]  You know two is keeping the taxes low and under control.  Three is you have your regulatory climate fair and predictable.  Four is reform the legal system so frivilous lawsuits don't paralyze employers that are trying to create jobs. [cheers, applause]  And now over the years, over the years we followed this recipe to produce the strongest economy in the nation.  Since June of 2009, Texas is responsible for more than 40-percent of all of the new jobs created in America.

TEXT: Any Questions Mr. President?

Notes: The video has a nice long clip of Perry speaking, but the applause/cheers sounds canned and added on.

From the press release: “If President Obama was serious about job creation, he would use the Texas model of low taxes and limited government that has created almost forty percent of all jobs in America since June 2009,” said Perry spokesman Mark Miner. “Billions of dollars in spending is not the answer to turning around the nation’s economic troubles created by the President.”
