Stephens: “Yeah, it’s really frustrating to hear that there might be a second stimulus bill that’s going to be passed.”

McFarland: “Obviously it hasn’t worked.”

Butcher: “It would be a total waste of money.”

Stephens: “And as a business owner I can’t go out and spend more than I make.”

Butcher: “Spending is totally out of control.”

Obama: “I won't sign a bill that adds one dime to our deficit -- either now or in the future. Period.”

Where Are The Jobs?

Notes: Throughout the video a counter "Stimulus spending to date" runs in the upper right corner.  The clips of Obama speaking are obscured/very fogged so that all one can see is a bit of movement.  According to the Romney press release, "The video highlights the failure of President Obama’s $787 billion stimulus to create jobs and help small businesses."  The DNC responded thusly...

Please see a statement below from DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse on Romney’s latest attack video – which has backfired.

“For Mitt Romney, it’s never been about having firm beliefs or core convictions, it’s all about taking whatever position he needs with whatever audience he’s with to win.  For the last 18 years, while he’s been running almost non-stop for multiple political offices, he’s consistently shifted his beliefs to match the opinions of the voters he needs.  That’s not leadership, it’s typical politics.

“Now he is at it again this morning with a video attacking the Recovery Act which has been credited with preventing the economic free fall that the President faced and stopping the hemorrhaging of close to 700,000 jobs per month when he came into office.  Yet – shocker here – Mitt Romney praised the Recovery Act after it passed, yet typical of someone who lacks any core convictions, he now criticizes it because that what the far right wing primary electorate expects.  The Romney video also criticizes the American Jobs Act – but wait – Romney previously supported virtually every major provision included in it.

“Only Mitt Romney could make an attack video that backfires and exposes not one but two flip-flops on his part.  The Mitt Romney Versus Mitt Romney primary battle continues.”
