ABC RUNS POLITICAL ADS AHEAD OF ‘SUPER
TUESDAY’ VOTING
Washington, D.C. – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today
announced it is running Internet and newspaper advertising in Ohio and
Tennessee in advance of the March 6 “Super Tuesday” caucus and
primaries. A 3/4-page newspaper ad supporting former Gov. Mitt Romney
for president appeared in the Sunday, March 4, edition of The Columbus
Dispatch. ABC’s Board of Directors endorsed Romney for president at its
Feb. 23 meeting in Phoenix.
The Internet ads, which compare the free enterprise positions of Romney
and former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.), appear on more than 20 websites
in both states.
“As job creators, we want people to know where the candidates stand on
our issues, which often involve their tax dollars – especially if they
have an interest in the recovery of the nation’s economy and the
construction industry,” said 2012 ABC National Chairman Eric Regelin,
president of Granix, LLC, Ellicott City, Md. “It’s critical that the
candidate chosen will fight for the principles of open competition and
free enterprise for merit shop construction workers across the country.”
ABC’s Political Action Committee (ABC PAC) paid for the newspaper ad,
and ABC’s Free Enterprise Alliance funded the web ads.
