Campaign Videos (March 2012)

March was the heart of the campaign for the Republican nomination with contests in 19 states and 4 territories.  On the GOP side, the Romney and Gingrich campaigns made most use of video.  Among their notable works, Newt 2012 released "Newt Gingrich: Rebuilding the America We Love" (16:05) on March 11, while the Romney campaign presented  "A Love Story" and "The Love Story Continues."  One of the Santorum campaign's videos, "Obamaville," was rather over the top.  The Paul campaign produced just a couple videos, one of which promoted a money bomb.

However it was the Obama campaign that has integrated video throughout its efforts to a really impressive degree, uploading an over 40 videos during the month.  The video that drew the most attention was the much-hyped "The Road We've Traveled" (16:57).  About a third of the Obama campaign videos focused on health care, including "Faces of Change" personal stories released both short promo form (:30-:50) and full length (3 min.-plus).  There were several testimonial/endorsement videos including Chicago Bears Head Coach Lovie Smith and Janelle Monáe.  "Inside the campaign" type videos, for example showed the campaign's activity in February, an office opening, how to set up a grassroots fundraising page, and behind the scenes footage from Dinner with Barack events.
