"Lilly Ledbetter on Paycheck Fairness" +
  1:04 web video from June 6, 2012.

[Music]  Lilly Ledbetter: When we get paycheck fairness, that will carry the women's cause down the road much farther and give them more benefits.  It will allow a person to find out how they stand with their peers.  It will allow that individual to discuss their pay with a co-worker.  They can compare pay if they want to, and without retaliation.  The law will protect them.  We need that desperately to protect women.  And women want to know where do they stand, how do they stand, can I talk to my superior without being fired?  Paycheck fairness for me if it had been the law back in my day, it would have prevented what happened to me from happening.  Lot of times if I knew I was making less than the minimum, I would have said hey, I've got to change this; I'm better than this.
