Obama for America

"The Red Hot Chili Peppers Rock for Barack" +
  2:58 web video from June 6, 2012.

[Music]  Man: I'm here to rock for Barack.  [plays bass guitar]

Ashley Bryant, Ohio Digital Director: Happening right now, we're in Cleveland at the House of Blues getting ready to rock out with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Woman: I'm beyond excited for the show today.

Ashley Bryant: Being Obama supporters, the Red Hot Chili Peppers decided to throw a free concert to reward our volunteers.

Jennifer Warner, Deputy Field Director: This week we were able to hold over 650 phone shifts in just a four day period.  Over half of those were from brand new people who had not volunteered in our office before.

Woman: To work together and do phone banking and volunteering and then get a concert afterwards as a reward, it's awesome.

Man: Anybody need to register to vote?

The way Ohio goes is usually how the presidential elections go.  The task we have as volunteers is to make sure that every single one of the president's supporters gets out and votes.

Man: We're finally here.  Front row.  Red Hot Chili Peppers.  It's about to be amazing.

Alynn Woischke, Regional Field Director: Our most valuable asset is right here in this room.  It's you guys.  With your help, we were able to contact over 39,000 community members right here in Cuyahoga County.

Greg Schultz, Ohio State Director: This president is fighting for us each and every day.  We need to make sure we're fighting equally as hard for him each day.

Jim Messina, Campaign Manager: Not only am I the president's campaign manager, I'm also a huge Chili Peppers fan.  They're here because they care about their country and they want to win this election.  So ladies and gentlemen, the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Man: It's really cool that they're incorporating their great music with what we do every day on the ground.

Woman: They put on a great show.  Everybody was not only cheering for the Red Hot Chili Peppers; everyone was excited about the presidency and getting him re-elected and making sure that Obama wins Ohio.

Campaign person audio (?Ashley Bryant): One of the best things about this event is that we're able to reward some of our hardest working volunteers by giving them the exclusive opportunity to meet with the band.

Band Member (backstage): Thank yo all very much.  Nice to be a part of the same..  Let's get Ohio.  Other Band Member: Ohio.

Band Member (on-stage): I'd just like to say that I completely support our president.

Woman: I feel this experience today, I just feel more energized to volunteer my time and just to inspire others to bring other people together.

Band Member (on-stage): Thank you for coming to the show.  We love you...

Woman: Cleveland rocks.  So does President Barack Obama.
