"Romney
Campaign
Doubles
Down:
Fewer
Teachers, Fewer Firefighters, Fewer Police
Officers" +
1:09 web video from June 11, 2012.
[Music]
TEXT: Romney wants to
cut jobs
for firefighters,
police officers,
and teachers
Jobs we need to help grow the economy
Romney (clip): He says we need more firemen, more policemen, more teachers—did he not get the message of Wisconsin? The American people did. It's time for us to cut back on government and help the American people... [cheers, applause]
TEXT: A plan too extreme, even
for Tea Party Governor Scott Walker
Gov. Walker: Our reforms allowed us to protect fire fighters, police officers and teachers; that's not what I think when I think of big government.
TEXT: But today, the Romney
campaign doubled down
Clip from MSNBC
Newswoman: Do you
think that taxpayers in this country want to hear fewer fire fighters,
fewer teachers, fewer police officers I guess from a strategic
standpoint?
Former Gov. Sununu: If
there's fewer kids, if there's fewer kids in the classroom, the
taxpayers really do want to hear that there will be fewer teachers,
absolutely, and people ought to stop jumping on it as a gaffe and
understand there's wisdom in the comment.
TEXT: Romney Economics
Fewer Teachers
Fewer Firefighters
Fewer Police Officers
Newswoman: Fewer teachers,
fewer firefighters, fewer police officers...
Notes:
This is the third Obama video centered around the Romney quote.
