"Stephanie Cutter: Mitt Romney's Career of Shipping American Jobs All Over the World" +
  2:29 web video from June 22, 2012.

Stephanie Cutter: Hi, I'm Stephanie Cutter, deputy campaign manager at Obama for America.  I know from the response to my last video that you're ready to help us call out the other side.  And I need your help again today.

Today's Washington Post has a must read piece.  As the head of Bain Capital, Mitt Romney owned companies that were "pioneers" in outsourcing and offshoring of American jobs.

We already knew that Mitt Romney plans to create a whole new incentive to ship jobs overseas.  As the Republican nominee he's promising to completely eliminate US taxes on foreign profits earned by U.S. companies overseas.

Now we know why.  Because he's actually made a career out of shipping jobs all over the world.

So let's take a look at Romney's record, because it's important people know the truth about the decisions he's made.

While he was governor of Massachusetts, Romney had the chance to sign legislation that would have banned companies from shipping jobs overseas if they did business with the state.  Now that just makes good common sense.

Unfortunately he vetoed it.  That's not all.  As governor he went even further and outsourced state jobs to a call center in India.  No wonder Massachusetts was 47th in the nation in job creation under Mitt Romney.  So that's Massachusetts.

What about when Romney worked as a corporate buyout specialist?  Well, more of the same.

During Romney's time as the CEO his firm bought out many companies.  So of those companies he drove into bankruptcy, but there were others where he shut down plants and shipped those American jobs overseas.  Some jobs went to China in the case of Holson Burnes.  Other jobs went to Mexico in the case of Modus Media.  And then there's SMTC, a circuit board manufacturer that closed a plant in Denver, Colorado, and opened a plant in Chihuahua, Mexico.

While Romney sent American jobs overseas and American workers out of work, he and his partners made millions.  So there's no surprise why he's so committed to outsourcing.

Those are the facts, and these facts tell you what kind of president Mitt Romney would be.

President Obama is fighting for tax breaks for companies that bring jobs back here to America.  Mitt Romney is fighting for tax breaks for companies that ship jobs over there, overseas.  That's just not a policy position for Romney, it's his economic philosophy and it's his record.

Now that you know the truth, I'm asking you to go do what you do best.  Get the president's back, and let everyone know about the difference between him and Governor Romney.  We won't win the important arguments of this election without your help.  So thanks for spreading the word.

Notes: FactCheck.org examined the Obama campaign's outsource charges and concluded that "The president's campaign fails to back up its claims that Romney 'shipped jobs' overseas."
