DNC Rapid Response responded thusly:
This
morning, the Romney campaign released a web video filled with dishonest
attacks on President Obama’s record. President Obama has put forward a
plan to reduce our deficit by $4 trillion by requiring everyone to
contribute their fair share. He has cracked down on wasteful spending
and urged Congress to join him in doing even more. Because of his
efforts, last year we recovered $4.1 billion from entities trying to
defraud seniors and taxpayers in health care, the highest annual amount
ever recorded.
This
record stands in stark contrast to Mitt Romney’s record of more
spending, higher taxes, greater debt, and bigger government in
Massachusetts. Over his four years as governor, Romney increased
spending by more than 6% annually, he increased debt by 16%, government
jobs grew six times as fast as private sector jobs, and taxes and fees
increased by $750 million each year. Romney even spent hundreds of
thousands of taxpayer dollars to make himself “look good.” With a
record like that, it’s no surprise why Mitt Romney is relying on more
dishonesty and distortions.
