Obama for America

"Cynical" +

:30 ad from Nov. 1, 2012 run in MI and OH.

Obama (voiceover): I’m Barack Obama and I approved this message.

[Music] Male Announcer: Wholly inaccurate...  Clearly misleading...

That’s what news outlets are calling Mitt Romney’s latest ads…suggesting auto jobs are being sent to China.

GM calls Romney’s ads ‘politics at its cynical worst’

And Chrysler’s CEO said it’s simply not true.

We know the truth, Mitt.

Romney (clip from 6/3/11): “That’s exactly what I said, that headline that you read, which it said, ‘Let Detroit go bankrupt.’” [Static SFX]

Notes: From the press release...

Just a few days from the election, Mitt Romney isn’t where he wanted to be. As a result, Romney is stooping to desperate attacks, including one of the most misleading, hypocritical, and indefensible ads we’ve ever seen in a presidential race. In response, Obama for America has released new television ad “Cynical” to capture the remarkable desperation behind Romney’s current strategy.  When Romney falsely suggested that Chrysler and GM are moving production to China, Chrysler itself debunked the myth and GM said the rumor comes from “some parallel universe.” The American people want a President they can trust, and long ago the middle class stopped trusting the man who wanted to “let Detroit go bankrupt.”
