STATE’S ORIGINAL CORN MAZE GIVES UTAHNS FIRST CHANCE TO PICK THEIR PREZ
For Those Wishing They Could Get Inside Romney Or Obama’s Heads, Here’s Their Chance

LEHI, Utah - September 2012 - Utahns will get to “pick their prez” before the rest of the nation when choosing their path at the state’s original corn maze, opening September 28 at Thanksgiving Point. Cornbelly’s Corn Maze & Pumpkin Fest is paying tribute to a few of 2012’s biggest stories with maze designs featuring the upcoming presidential election, as well as the 100th birthday of girl scouting.

Featuring a new design each year, this year’s main maze will depict presidential candidates Mitt Romney & Barack Obama holding an American flag and the words “Pick Your Prez”. Guests of all ages (even the kiddos) will get a chance to let their voices be heard by choosing either the Romney or Obama entrance path and casting their vote in a special “straw poll”.

Guests can also hop aboard the grain train for a ride through the corn, as they make their way through a maze honoring the 100th birthday of girl scouting. Along the way they’ll encounter fun scarecrow scenes created by girl scouts across the state. Special birthday festivities will be held throughout the season for all to enjoy.

“We always try to pick a maze design that is both timely and something we think our guests will find interesting,” says Brett Herbst, creator of Utah’s first maze and more than 2,000 around the world since. "
One thing the corn maze & this election have in common is that ultimate choice…left or right? We’re excited to give Utahns a chance, in a fun and entertaining way, to express their choice a few weeks before the rest of the nation does."

Curious maze-goers will spend an average of one hour trying to find the exit from the 12-acre “Pick Your Prez” labyrinth. Their trip through the girl scout maze will be much easier, as they sit back and enjoy a train ride. Along with the corn mazes, visitors can enjoy a pumpkin patch and more than 40 other fall attractions, including: the Insanity Point haunts, spooktacular jack-o-lantern tree, pig races, cow train, super-sized pumpkin blasters, a Pumpkin Princess Playland and more. New additions this year include a zipline over the maze, barnyard ball zone and Halloween parade.

Special discounts and operating times are available for school field trips, scouts, corporate teambuilding and group outings. For the general public, Cornbelly’s will operate Sept. 28-Nov. 3 from 4-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and UEA days. It is closed Sundays.
