Minnesota Senate & House Majority
Leaders Endorse
Bachmann
Urbandale, Iowa – The
Bachmann for President campaign announced today receiving the
endorsements of Minnesota Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch and House
Majority Leader Matt Dean.
“Amy and Matt are strong and true
leaders who have worked hard in the state of Minnesota to create
positive change for citizens all across the state. They understand
that, now more
than ever, we need a president who will create a better tomorrow for
all Americans,” Bachmann said. “Amy and Matt recognize that I am the
only candidate in the race that has the skills and the plan necessary
to move our country forward. I’m thrilled to welcome their support as
we
press on to make Barack Obama a one-term president.”
Senate
Majority Leader Koch is a fourth generation resident of Wright County
in Minnesota, and is a former Russian Linguist from the U.S. Air Force.
During her time in the state legislature, Sen. Koch has developed a
solid
reputation of advancing job creation and pro-growth policies. She
serves on the Rules and Administration committee as chair, and on the
Energy,
Utilities and Telecom Budget and Policy committee as the ranking
majority member.
“From serving as a state senator to her terms
in the United States Congress, as well as owning and operating her
family business, Michele has demonstrated she has what it takes to
stand up against
big government and put forth the necessary policies to create a
pro-growth economy that our country so desperately needs right now,”
said Sen.
Koch. “She has it right on boosting job creation, she has it right on
cutting government spending, she has it right on investing in
innovation. I can’t think of another candidate in this race that would
be more equipped to turnaround the economy than Michele. That’s why she
has
my endorsement.”
House Majority Leader Dean was first
elected in 2004 and represents the residents of District 52B. Rep. Dean
is
a staunch advocate for improving our economic climate. He is currently
serving his fourth term in the legislature and presides over the Rules
and
Administration committee as chair.
“America needs a
leader that won’t waiver on the vital issues that matter most to
Americans – job creation, cutting spending and getting our national
debt under control so our children can have a better, more prosperous
future,” said Rep. Dean. “Michele is that leader; I am honored to
endorse her candidacy for President of the United States.”
