Examples of Close of 4th Q Fundraising Appeals
In the lead-up to Dec. 31 and the close of the 4th Quarter fundraising period, campaigns are issuing a steady stream of fundraising emails and appeals.  Here are texts of some of those messages:

Bachmann for President
[Dec. 31, 2011] Subject: Midnight in Iowa

Dear Joe,

Only minutes remain until our midnight fundraising deadline. Our campaign is three days away from making history in Iowa but in order to do so, I need your support tonight.

Won’t you make history with me? Will you contribute $25, $50, $100 or even $250 to help me reach my fundraising goal by midnight?

We cannot afford to settle for a candidate who says one thing but does another. I always stay true to my word and you can count on me to bring our shared conservative values to Washington - a place where they have been missing for too long.

Stand with me tonight and show our opponents that our momentum is strong and our campaign’s message is resonating with millions of Americans. Please follow this link to make a secure, online donation before it’s too late!

I know that if we work together, we will win the Iowa caucuses and go on to defeat Barack Obama.

I am grateful for your continued support. May God bless America.

Sincerely,

Michele Bachmann

P.S. Our opponents, the liberal media and political pundits across the country will be looking at the fundraising numbers from this FEC deadline as a key indicator of our campaign’s strength. Please follow this link to stand with me and make your urgent donation before midnight!

[Dec. 31, 2011, #2] Subject: Last Chance To Support Newt in 2011

Dear Friend and Supporter,

2011 is ending with a flurry of good news out of Iowa. Conservative radio talk show host Steve Deace and Herman Cain’s Iowa director Larry Tuel have both made endorsements of Newt’s candidacy. Nearly 40% of Iowa caucus-goers remain undecided, and this is a good indication that after carefully reviewing the conservative credentials of each candidate the choice is clear: Newt Gingrich is the leader we need to clean up Obama’s mess.

As political momentum on the ground swings in our favor, we are on the precipice of being able to report $10 million raised in the fourth quarter! We want to thank everyone who has already joined the growing list of people who have made a contribution, and if you haven’t had the opportunity yet, you still have time! Please click this link and help us reach this important milestone!

Tomorrow everyone who has helped us in this final push by making a contribution of at least $100 online will receive special recognition.

Thank You,

Michael Krull

[Dec. 31, 2011, #1] Subject:: Urgent: Critical Deadline Approaching

Dear Friend and Supporter,

This has been a tumultuous quarter, with its fair share of highs and lows. The media is less than thrilled with the idea of an experienced conservative systematically dismantling the failed liberal policies that they champion. This election is a historic clash of ideology, and if the ideals of liberty are going to carry the argument, our nominee must not timidly pull his punches. I am prepared to challenge every radical policy, every radical appointment, and every radical idea of the Obama administration, and I will not shy away from exposing the worst President in American history.

Today we have an opportunity to strike a blow to the Democrats' media machine by disproving the ridiculous narrative that this campaign does not have the resources to compete. My staff has informed me that we are now less than $500,000 from reaching $10 million raised in the fourth quarter. Surpassing ten million would be an incredible achievement and with your help I know we can do it!

I am proud of how we have run this campaign, and am confident that with the help of thousands of supporters around the country we can surpass the $10 million mark. As an extra bonus, everyone who contributes $100 or more will receive special recognition in our New Year's Day email!

Thank You,

Newt Gingrich

Jon Huntsman for President
[Dec. 31, 2011] Subject: 10 Days to Go

Friends,

It was just a few months ago that Governor Huntsman drew a crowd of ten people at an event in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Thursday night he returned to Mitt Romney's backyard, and held an electrifying town hall best summed up by this picture:

An overflow crowd of Granite Staters packed this World War II museum to hear Governor Huntsman lay out his vision to rebuild America's economy and restore trust in our government.

Elections are about choices, and voters are desperately seeking an alternative to Mitt Romney, the establishment candidate who will say or do anything to win; and Ron Paul, a fringe candidate who is unelectable against Barack Obama.

Voters in New Hampshire and across the nation are now turning to Jon Huntsman as the consistent conservative with the vision, record and broad appeal necessary to win the White House.

With just ten days to go until New Hampshire's primary, we need your help to seize this moment of opportunity for our campaign. Please help us build on our growing momentum by forwarding this email to your friends, family and co-workers. Then, if you have not already done so, consider making a donation in the amount you can afford.

Whether it is $25, $250 or even $2,500 we are counting on all Huntsman supporters to help fund our efforts in New Hampshire. From paying for volunteer calls to helping us raise money to air our new television ad, every dollar will help us win on January 10. Will you make a donation in the amount you can afford today?  Every dollar counts.

Momentum is building and we have a real opportunity here.  Please help us make certain we have the resources we need to win.

Proud to stand with Jon Huntsman,

Matt David

Campaign Manager

Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Committee
[Dec. 31, 2011, #3] Subject: Closing the book on 2011

Dear joe,

As we close the book on 2011, my campaign is surging, with the Iowa Caucus just days away.

The crowds at events swelled with grassroots Americans thirsting for a return to Constitutional government.

My poll numbers in Iowa have mushroomed to where I am running neck and neck with Mitt Romney, the establishment's handpicked frontrunner.

Now, to keep the momentum rolling into 2012, when the first votes will be cast to determine the Republican nominee, I need your help more than ever.

There are just hours remaining before the midnight deadline for the end of the fundraising quarter, and it's vital you contribute whatever you are able right away to help my campaign reach our goal.

Can I count on you to make your most generous contribution to help me finish strong in Iowa and New Hampshire?

 Click to donate

2011 has proven one thing - my message of liberty, free markets, and respect for the Constitution is popular.

Voters are rejecting counterfeits who claim to be conservative, but whose records reveal them as the Republican face of Big Government.

And Americans are flocking to my campaign because my record is principled, consistent, and conservative.

So please, click here to make your most generous contribution and help us reach our goal of raising $2 million by tonight's midnight deadline.

A victory in Iowa will slingshot me to a strong finish in the New Hampshire primary and the other early state contests.

As great a year as 2011 was, you and I can make 2012 the year constitutional government was restored to America.

I thank you for all that you have done in the name of liberty, and I wish you and yours a very happy New Year.

For Liberty,

Ron Paul

P.S. 2011 proved that freedom is popular.

My campaign has set a goal of raising an additional $2 million by midnight tonight to close the quarter and maintain my surging momentum in Iowa, New Hampshire, and the other early voting states.

[Dec. 31, 2011, #2] Subject: How much?
Dear joe,

How much do you want to reclaim your liberties and fix the damage Big Government has caused?

How much do you want to prove to the establishment that you are tired of their smears, and that no amount of their lies will discourage you from supporting freedom?

If you’re ready to send the statists a message that will rock them to their core, then Ron Paul needs your help today.

With the fourth quarter of fundraising ending at midnight tonight, my dad is only $782,293 away from reaching his goal of raising $2 million to finish strong in Iowa and New Hampshire and carry his momentum into all the other key early states.

So I hope you’ll contribute whatever you can right away.

None of my dad’s success would be possible without the generous support of you and hundreds of thousands of other grassroots patriots who are fed up with the status quo and ready for real change.

You and I have an opportunity to make history.

The establishment knows what Ron Paul stands on the verge of achieving, and that’s why they’re lashing out with every distortion and dirty trick in the book.

You can be sure they’ll check out my dad’s fundraising numbers for this quarter to see if their attacks have had an impact on our enthusiasm.

We can show them that all their work has been in vain, but my dad needs your help to make his goal by midnight.

Can I count on you to give to his campaign right away
?

It’s hard to believe that Iowa is only a few days from now.

And with New Hampshire and the other early states close behind, we can’t afford to put on the brakes.

Only your continued support helps guarantee Ron Paul can keep getting his message out to millions of undecided voters.

If you’re frustrated with what Big Government politicians have done to our country and our future, and if you’re sick and tired of watching the establishment try to smear those who stand up against them, then I urge you to take action today.

Every single dollar will go toward winning this race, putting Ron Paul in the White House, and taking our country back.

Please give whatever you are able today to help my dad reach his goal of raising $2 million by midnight.

For Liberty,

Rand Paul

P.S. Ron Paul stands on the verge of making history, but he needs your continued support so he can keep taking his message of limited government, sound money, and free markets to millions of undecided voters.

The fourth quarter of fundraising comes to an end tonight, and my dad has set a goal of raising $2 million to help him finish strong in Iowa and New Hampshire and carry his momentum to the rest of the early states.

But time is running out.

So if you’re as sick and tired as I am of watching the establishment machine try to destroy anyone who stands up to them, I hope Ron Paul can count on you to make your most generous donation right away!

[Dec. 31, 2011, #1] Subject: Our Next 1776
Dear joe,

The bayonets are sharpened.  The muskets are loaded.

Today, 2011 comes to an end.  With your help, Ron Paul is going to make 2012 America's next 1776.

If you haven't yet done so, please make your most generous contribution to help our campaign reach the additional $2 million we need before the end of the fourth quarter fundraising period at midnight.

And every dollar we raise today puts our R3VOLUTION one step closer to VICTORY.

eric, the truth is, this isn't just any campaign.  It's a R3VOLUTION.  And Ron Paul isn't just any candidate.

He's a man of his word - not a flip-flopper.

He's spent over 30 years fighting for constitutional principles - not betraying them.

He's fought against EVERY outrageous scheme the establishment has cooked up - from the $700 BILLION TARP bailout to the individual mandate central to ObamaCare.

And he's the ONLY candidate to offer a real plan to cut spending.

Ron Paul's Plan to Restore America cuts $1 TRILLION in the first year of his presidency - by eliminating five unconstitutional federal agencies - and it balances the budget by year three.

That's what has the establishment scared.  That's why the SMEARS are coming.

Well, guess what?

Ron Paul has taken their best shots.  And he's still standing and FIGHTING BACK.

Now, the Iowa Caucus is in three days.  The New Hampshire Primary is in ten.

Then South Carolina, Florida, and Nevada.

Ron Paul announced his candidacy just over seven months ago.

We've been preparing for this moment ever since.

It's here.  We're ready.  Ron Paul is ready.

Help us march toward victory with your most generous contribution IMMEDIATELY.

For Liberty,

John Tate
Campaign Manager

P.S.  Let's make 2012 America's next 1776.

Please help us raise the additional $2 million we need before the end of the fourth quarter fundraising period tonight.

Help us march toward victory with your most generous contribution IMMEDIATELY.
