Democratic National Convention Committee Seeks Vendor Artwork and Design Services for 2012 DNC Credential

CHARLOTTE – The Democratic National Convention Committee today released a request for proposal for a vendor or vendors to design and produce the artwork for the official 2012 Democratic National Convention credential.  The proposal can be found on the DNCC website, www.demconvention.com

The vendor will develop credential designs and/or artwork in coordination with the DNCC, the security printing vendor and other vendors.  Vendors may bid for both credential design and artistic services, or may bid for just one component.

In order to gain access to the convention, each delegate, staff member, volunteer, vendor, member of the media and program participant must have a credential.

A credential varies from a ticket in that they are printed by a security printing firm, there is no monetary value to a credential, there is no replacement for a lost credential, and credentials bear enhanced security features to protect against counterfeiting.  The credential is only valid for official convention proceedings, and they will not gain an individual access to events and parties hosted by outside groups.

The DNCC will evaluate the proposals based on numerous criteria, including, but not limited to: experience, reliability, costs, relationships to Charlotte, North Carolina, and the surrounding region, participation of union labor, women, minorities and persons with disabilities, and local resources to support the endeavor.

The DNCC previously issued a request for qualification for a security printing firm to produce the credentials.
