Democratic National Convention Committee Seeks Requests for Proposals for Studio 2012

CHARLOTTE – The Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) released a request for proposal (RFP) for Studio 2012, a full-service, multimedia studio at the 2012 Democratic National Convention.  The DNCC seeks a scope of services for Studio 2012 including television production staff, radio services and make-up artists.  Vendors can apply for all scopes of services or a portion only.  The RFP can be found on the DNCC website, www.demconvention.com.

The primary objective of Studio 2012 is to get out the message of the convention in support of President Obama’s re-election.  The operation will include radio and satellite TV studios, photo, video and online support that will allow media located across the country to conduct live and taped interviews from their home states with elected officials and surrogates in Charlotte.

“Surrogates, delegates and other convention participants will use Studio 2012 to tell our story,” said DNCC CEO Steve Kerrigan.  “Studio 2012 will play an important role in sharing our message with Americans nationwide and make the convention even more open and accessible to those tuning in by TV, radio or online.”

This RFP is just one step in the Democratic National Convention Committee’s outreach to local businesses.  On Monday, June 18th, the DNCC and the Charlotte in 2012 Host Committee will host an information session on the Studio 2012 RFP.  For information on the session, visit http://studio2012.eventbrite.com

“The Studio 2012 information session will provide an opportunity for businesses to learn more about the request for proposal and the many contracting opportunities available.  It will also be a chance for companies and vendors to come together and network,” said Robyn Hamilton, Director of Business Relations, External Relations for the Charlotte in 2012 Host Committee.

Businesses are required to register on the vendor directory, a robust and useful tool that that allows groups to search for businesses and services to meet their convention-related needs.

The DNCC will evaluate request for proposals based on numerous criteria, including, but not limited to: experience, reliability, costs, relationships to Charlotte, North Carolina, and the surrounding region, participation of union labor, women, minorities and persons with disabilities.
