RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chairman Sharon Day Statement on the New York Primary Election

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chairman Sharon Day released the following statement regarding the results of the New York primary:

“Today, New York primary voters went to the polls to make their voices heard,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “I congratulate Mitt Romney on this important victory as our party begins coalescing around a candidate to take on President Obama in November.

“In New York and across America, families are struggling under the policies of President Obama. For far too many Americans today, it is a challenge just to find work, fill up the gas tank, or even put food on the table.

“The Obama presidency has clearly taken the country in the wrong direction. Instead of increased prosperity and opportunity, he’s produced massive debt and more government.”

“With a record of broken promises and failed policies, President Obama is frantically running away from his record,” said Co-Chairman Sharon Day. “As we move toward the General Election, he will attempt to make the race about anything other than the last three years.

“But this election is a referendum on President Obama, and even as he attempts to distract from that fact, Republicans will continue to offer substantive solutions to the problems facing the nation. We cannot afford four more years of Barack Obama, and in November we will have the chance to change direction and send a Republican to the White House.”

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus & Co-Chairman Sharon Day Statement on the Pennsylvania Primary Election

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chairman Sharon Day released the following statement regarding the results of the Pennsylvania primary:

“Pennsylvania voters cast their first votes against President Obama and his failed presidency today,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “As our party begins coalescing around a candidate to take on President Obama in November, I want to congratulate Mitt Romney on his victory tonight in this critical battleground state.

“In 2008, President Obama promised Pennsylvanians a transformational presidency of ‘hope and change,’ but he has clearly failed to deliver. Today, families are struggling just to pay the bills and make ends meet. Instead of offering solutions, President Obama continues to offer nothing but more empty rhetoric.

“I look forward to working with our nominee between now and November to ensure Pennsylvanians do not have to endure four more years of President Obama. With a Republican president, we can truly put America on a path toward opportunity and prosperity.”

“Today polls show that a majority of Pennsylvanians disapprove of President Obama’s job performance and say he does not deserve to be reelected,” said Co-Chairman Sharon Day. “After three years of high unemployment and Obama’s reckless spending, the Keystone State is ready to send a Republican to the White House.”

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chairman Sharon Day Statement on the Delaware Primary Election

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chairman Sharon Day released the following statement regarding the results of the Delaware primary:

“Today, voters in Vice President Biden’s home state cast their first ballots against the failed Obama-Biden record,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.

“As our party begins coalescing around a candidate to take on President Obama in November, I extend my congratulations to Mitt Romney on his win tonight.

“More than three years after the president took office, he has absolutely no record to run on. Americans everywhere are feeling the consequences of the Obama presidency—pain at the pump and a difficult job market.”

“President Obama has broken his promises to Delawareans and all Americans, and now he’s running a campaign based on empty rhetoric and distractions,” said Co-Chairman Sharon Day. “The ‘hope and change’ candidate of 2008 has become the ‘fear and division’ candidate of 2012.

“Republicans, however, are committed to running on policies that will get America on the right track. We look forward to partnering with our nominee as we work to win the White House and offer Americans a new direction.”

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chairman Sharon Day Statement on the Connecticut Primary Election

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chairman Sharon Day released the following statement regarding the results of the Connecticut primary:

“After more than three years of the failed policies of President Obama, Connecticut voters are ready for a new direction, and tonight they voted for exactly that,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “I congratulate Mitt Romney on his victory, as our party begins coalescing around a candidate to take on President Obama in November.

“Our country cannot afford four more years of President Obama. Under his watch, unemployment has been chronically high. Wages are shrinking, but prices for gas, groceries, and health care are skyrocketing. Americans have to make do with less, but Democrats insist on more reckless government spending to pay for their agenda.

“Republicans will put an end to President Obama’s liberal tax-and-spend ways,” said Co-Chairman Sharon Day. “While the president campaigns on divisive, hypocritical rhetoric to distract voters from his record, Republicans are running on solutions to the problems he has created.

“We look forward to working with our nominee to end Barack Obama’s presidency and put America on the path toward opportunity and prosperity.”

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus & Co-Chairman Sharon Day Statement on the Rhode Island Primary Election

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chairman Sharon Day released the following statement regarding the results of the Rhode Island primary:

“I congratulate Mitt Romney on his victory in the Rhode Island primary tonight as our party begins coalescing around a candidate to take on President Obama in November,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.

“Like all Americans, Rhode Islanders are enduring a difficult economy, chronically high unemployment, and skyrocketing gas prices. Three years of President Obama’s policies has been a disaster. Four more would be an absolute nightmare.

“Today, Ocean State voters added their voices to the growing chorus of Americans calling for a new direction. Our country cannot afford another term of the president’s liberal tax-and-spend agenda. Instead of offering solutions, he has only created more problems.”

“Because of his record, the president is now running a campaign based on distractions and empty rhetoric,” said Co-Chairman Sharon Day. “But Rhode Islanders deserve better. Republicans will run on substance and policy and hold President Obama accountable for his record.  And we look forward to working with our nominee to do exactly that.”
