Release from the Park County Republican Party Executive Committee
Tonight, the Park County Republican Executive Committee in an unanimous decision determined that Mr. Charles Cloud was the rightful winner of the Park County Convention RNC delegate election. Accordingly, the County Chairwoman, Geri Hockhalter, has transmitted to the Chair of the Wyoming State Republican Party notification that Mr. Cloud is the elected RNC delegate from Park County, Wyoming.

Mr. Cloud won a majority vote on the second round of balloting at the Park County Convention. The motion to cancel his election and proceed to a third round of balloting did not pass by the required 2/3 vote. Accordingly, the third round of balloting should not have taken place and was invalid.-

MITT ROMNEY WINS MAJORITY OF DELEGATES AT WYOMING COUNTY CONVENTIONS

Boston, MA –Mitt Romney made the following statement on winning the majority of the national delegates selected at Wyoming’s County Conventions:

“I am delighted to have won the support of seven of the twelve national delegates selected at Wyoming’s County Conventions.  Our campaign is on the move and today's victories in the island territories bring us one step closer to defeating President Obama and restoring American's promise. I am grateful to our extraordinary supporters in Wyoming and look forward to sharing my message of more jobs, less debt and smaller government with voters across the nation.”

The 2012 State Convention will be held at Little America in Cheyenne, April 12-14. Delegates to the Convention will adopt a new platform, resolutions and possible changes to the existing bylaws. In addition, fourteen (14) at large delegates and fourteen (14) alternates will be elected to attend the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, in August.

Delegates assigned to convention committees should review the agenda and plan their arrival and stay accordingly; Friday evening the Wyoming Federal Delegation will host a Welcome Dinner for all delegates, alternates, and guests.  Saturday evening following the close of convention a post-convention dinner will be held with Vice President Richard Cheney.

Friday, April 13th a campaign school will be held and will include presenters who have managed, scheduled, and fund raised Wyoming campaigns (local, statewide and Federal races).   The fee ($35) will include lunch and any materials.  Additionally, there will be Voter Vault training and following a break, there will be training and sign up session open to the public presented by the Wyoming Secretary of State Elections Staff for WYCFIS (Wyoming’s Campaign Finance Information System).

The Convention is a closed convention and access to meals and the general session on Saturday, April 14 is open only to paid delegates/alternates/guests.

The format and process for the Platform, resolutions and by laws has changed considerably. Delegates, alternates, county convention officials and precinct caucus officials should study up on the new process.

During the precinct caucuses of February 9 to February 29, 2012, the Wyoming Republican Party conducted a non-binding presidential staw poll. These are the results.
