STATEMENT from McCotter
2012
July
23, 2011 - Today the Republican Party of Iowa (RPI) set the criteria
for participation in the nationally
televised Republican presidential candidate debate to be held in
conjunction with the
Straw Poll in Ames, Iowa. The criteria enables Rep. Thaddeus McCotter
to participate; he
released the following statement:
"Eager to fully engage Iowans during all the events surrounding the
Ames Straw Poll, I
am grateful that today's RPI decision allows me to participate in the
nationally televised
debate. It will provide the unique opportunity to share my vision for
how to achieve an
America that works with voters in Iowa and all of America. As a past
Michigan Republican
Party leader, I thank the Iowa state party for establishing eminently
fair criteria that
increases voter and candidate interaction in the upcoming GOP
Presidential Primary."

Fellow Cyber Citizen:
Representative Thaddeus McCotter is on the ground in Iowa and ready to
rock the Ames Straw Poll on
Saturday.
Right now, he’s the only candidate taking the fight to the Obama
Administration and those Republicans who refuse to
acknowledge that the failed bank and Wall Street bailouts are once
again threatening the American Dream.
In short, he’s the only
candidate fighting for those of us who live on Main Street.
Thaddeus is in Iowa for a four-day swing around the Ames Straw Poll,
with
growing crowds and great responses to his message. But we need your
help to keep this campaign going.
Even though
Representative McCotter met every qualification, he was barred from
tonight’s Straw Poll Debate. But that isn’t stopping Thaddeus from
participating.
Visit our website
tonight at 9 pm ET (8 pm CT, 6 pm PT), when Thaddeus will present a
live webcast from the Ames debate. It’s a show only Thaddeus
McCotter could pull off, and you won’t want to miss it. Share the link
with your friends.
Thaddeus won’t let the mainstream
media hinder his common sense, conservative message from getting out to
as many people as we can reach. Won’t you help us? If
you’ve supported our campaign before, thank you. If you can chip in
again, we’d appreciate it.
And join us tonight online for
Thaddeus McCotter live from the Iowa State Fair. You can watch him on:

Chairman Strawn Announces RNC Chairman,
Co-Chairman Will Attend August 11 Debate
Priebus, Day and RNC Members Attendance Underscores Iowa’s Vital
Role in the Nomination Process
AMES-
In a media availability outside a meeting of the Ames Rotary, Iowa GOP
Chairman Matt Strawn announced that Republican National Committee
Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chairman Sharon Day will attend the Iowa
GOP/Fox News Debate on August 11. Additionally, Chairman Strawn
extended invites to the 168 members of the RNC and 22 members from 16
state/territories have confirmed their attendance at both the Iowa
GOP/Fox News Debate and the Iowa Straw Poll.
Strawn
referenced the strong RNC presence in Ames as symbol of Iowa’s vital
role in the Republican Presidential nomination process.
“Having
Chairman Priebus, Co-Chairman Day and dozens of RNC members in Ames is
a testament to the Iowa caucuses vital role in the nomination process.
Last August, more than two-thirds of RNC members voted to keep Iowa at
the front of the nomination calendar and this year, RNC members and
leadership will be able to view the caucus process in action as
candidates take their message directly to the voters. I am confident
that this visit will validate the trust RNC members put in Iowa
Republican caucusgoers to start the process of finding President
Obama’s Republican successor.”
