Jennifer Jacobs, the state central committee of the Iowa Republican
Party approved three rules "developed jointly with Fox News Channel"
"Candidates must satisfy the following by
4 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, Aug. 9:
1. Registered with the Federal Elections
Commission as a presidential exploratory committee or presidential
campaign
2. Meet all U.S. Constitutional
requirements
3. Garnered at least an average of one
percent in five national
polls based on most recent polling leading up to the registration day."
and a fourth rule that
all nine candidates listed on the Straw Poll ballot should
participate.
Spokesman Casey Mills responded to a query late on July
23 stating, "Debate rules are part of an ongoing conversation w fox."
Ed. Note: As a result of that
ongoing conversation that fourth point was dropped.

Republican Party Presidential Debate on August 11

presidential debate on August 11th. The debate will take place at Iowa
State University in Ames, Iowa and will set the stage for

scheduled to take place prior to the Iowa Caucus at Sioux City’s
