"Dedicated to restoring Constitutional government"

By Michael Nystrom of Boston, MA.  Launched Jan. 2007.

Excerpts from the site, by Michael Nystrom...

Hello and Welcome to the DailyPaul.com!

In the late 1990's I worked as a stockbroker during the tremendous late 20th century bull market, but I could tell that something about it was amiss. After researching what really going on – where else, but on the internet? – I realized that the global economy was really nothing more than a giant Ponzi scheme. I stared a financially oriented website called Depression2.tv predicting the second great depression (back in 2001!) which morphed into Bull! Not bull. It was on the forums of that site that I first learned of Ron Paul, and first heard the rumor that he was considering a run for president.

When that rumor was confirmed in early 2007, I immediately set up this website. Honestly, I was a little reluctant to do it. Like nearly everyone these days, between work and family responsibilities, I've got enough on my plate already. And running a website like this is a big responsibility.

But it was very much worth the effort.

Throughout the 2007-2008 presidential campaign, the Daily Paul and the Ron Paul Forums – two independent, completely grassroots websites – were the place to be for the latest breaking, up to the minute news on Dr. Paul’s campaign activities. The tremendous grassroots success of Dr. Paul’s campaign attracted media attention, and earned mentions for the Daily Paul in The Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, Mother Jones, and many other publications. My I Support Ron Paul graphics were used by the official campaign on tens of thousands of T-shirts and buttons.

Much to my surprise, following the conclusion of the campaign, the Daily Paul has remained a vibrant online community of like minded people working towards freedom, liberty, and the restoration of our Constitutional republic. Dr. Paul is a true American hero, and indeed, a modern day revolutionary, and the inspiration for us all.

DP Updated Posting Guidelines

I set up this website/blog/forum in January 2007 as a place for Ron Paul supporters to communicate with each other during Dr. Paul’s 2008 presidential bid. Although the election is over, the passionate community of supporters who believe in freedom, liberty, peace, and justice remains as strong as ever. While Ron Paul did not win the election, no other ex-presidential candidate has as loyal and passionate a following as Dr. Paul has developed. The ongoing purpose of this site has therefore become 1) to keep Dr. Paul’s message and ideas alive, 2) an open forum for the honest discussion of ideas and the search for truth, and 3) to share, practice and spread these ideas as far and wide as possible in the world we live in. This site will thus remain in existence as long as there is a need for it, and as long as there are supporters willing to help keep it going.

Ed. Notes

>This site has various forums (for example, Ron Paul 2012, Daily Paul Liberty Forum, Current Events) and frequent submissions and postings.  A Nystrom posting from March 24, 2011 highlights the "first ever National Run Ron Paul Meetup Day" (April 19).

>Nystrom seeks to generate income through both ads on the site and the Paul-Mall, a zazzle store which features shirts, a mug and a sticker with his own design (image of Paul with something like the stamp filter applied).  Additionally he recently began selling shirts with a design he commissioned from John Hafford, a Maine designer and Ron Paul supporter.

>There is a Daily Pauul Facebook page (7,767 people like), and on Jan. 3, 2011 Daily Paul started doing Twitter (there are a very modest 19 Tweets...24 following, 406 followers).
