JANUARY
>(arriving from FL) Former Speaker Newt Gingrich visited SC on January 13-21, 2012.
On the evening of January 13 he spoke at the Spartanburg GOP Bronze Elephant - Forum and BBQ at Byrnes High School in Duncan.
On the afternoon of January 14 he held a town hall at Jones Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church in Columbia; and participated in the "Huckabee Forum: South Carolina Undecided" at the College of Charleston in Charleston.
On January 15 he spoke at the Cathedral of Praise in Charleston; and held a town hall meeting at Land's End Restaurant in Georgetown.
On January 16 he spoke at a Corporate & Community Awards Breakfast (part of a MLK Jr. celebration) at the Canal Street Recreation Center in Myrtle Beach; held a town hall meeting at Rioz Braziliian Steakhouse in Myrtle Beach; spoke at the South Carolina Tea Party's first statewide convention at the Springmaid Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach; spoke at the South Carolina Faith & Freedom Coalition Presidential Kick Off at the Faith & Freedom Coalition Presidential Pavilion in Myrtle Beach; and participated in the SCGOP/Fox News Channel/Wall Street Journal Presidential Debate at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in Myrtle Beach.
On January 17 he met with Carolinas Hospital System employees at Floyd Conference Center in Florence; did a coffee fundraiser/town hall for the Florence County GOP at the Art Trails Gallery in Florence; spoke at a U.S. Global Leadership Coalition foreign policy forum and luncheon at the Hilton Columbia Center in Columbia; held a town hall at Phillip's Market in West Columbia; participated in the SC BIPEC forum at the Marriott Hotel in Columbia; and spoke at the Greater CSRA Conservative Coalition's "The Last Word Before the First in the South Primary" forum at the USC-Aiken Convocation Center in Aiken.
On January 18 he held a town hall meeting at Christ Central Community Center in Winnsboro; (on sched. Jan. 15. off sched. Jan. 17 hold a press conference on the North Steps of the State Capitol; hold a town hall meeting at Old McDonald Fish Camp in North Augusta; hold a town hall meeting at Jimmy's Restaruant in Easley); held a town hall meeting at Bobby's BBQ in Warrenville; held a town hall at Mutt's BBQ in Easley; and spoke at the Personhood USA Presidential Prolife Forum at the Hilton Hotel in Greenville.
On January 19 he held a town hall meeting at Magnolia Hall/Sun City in Bluffton; held a town hall meeting, joined by ret. Col. Michael Steele, at Henry Chambers Waterfront (1014 Bay St) in Beaufort; spoke at a Lowcountry Sportsmen BBQ for Newt at Dove Field in Walterboro; and participated in the CNN/SRLC Republican Presidential debate at the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston.
On January 20 he plans to speak at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference at the College of Charleston's TD Basketball Arena in Charlestoncanceled; he visited/held a town hall with the staff of the Medical University of South Carolina Children's Hospital in Charleston; hold a town hall meeting at Coker College in Hartsvilleheld a town hall at the Cinema Room (inside the shopping mall) in Orangeburg; and held a veterans town hall and book signing at the USS Yorktown, hangar deck at Patriots Point in North Charleston.
On January 21 he made stops at Grapevine Restaurant in Spartanburg; at Tommy's Ham House in Greenville (Romney finished his appearance there about half an hour earlier); at the Powdersville Middle School polling location in Greenville; at the Chick-Fil-A on Clemson Blvd in Anderson; at Whiteford's Restaurant in Laurens; and held his primary night party at the Hilton Hotel, Palmetto State Ballroom in Columbia.


>Former Speaker Newt Gingrich visited SC on January 11-12, 2012On January 11 he held a town hall in the Magnolia Room at the Laurel Creek Club in Rock Hill; spoke at the Spartanburg County GOP luncheon and did a book signing at the Spartanburg Marriott in Spartanburg; and held a town hall at the Beacon Drive-In restaurant in Spartanburg.  On January 12 he gave brief remarks at the Palmetto Senior Show at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds in Columbia; and joined by former Congressman J.C. Watts gave brief remarks at a Home Builders Association of South Carolina rally at the State Capitol, North Steps in Columbia.  (to Florida)

DECEMBER

NOVEMBER
>Former Speaker Newt Gingrich visited SC on November 28-30, 2011
On November 28 he and Callista opened the campaign's North Charleston office at 7671 Northwoods Blvd; he hosted a Newt 2012 fundraiser at 17 E. Battery; and he participated in one of Congressman Tim Scott's “First in the South” presidential candidate town halls at the College of Charleston’s Sottile Theater in Charleston; afterwards he and Callista were to sign books. 
On November 29 did two fundraising events at the Crazy Crab restaurant in Hilton Head; he opened the campaign's Beaufort County office at 1247 May River Rd. Unit B in Bluffton; held a town hall meeting at The Promenade (St. Joseph Park) in Bluffton; and participated in one of the SCGOP's "First in the South" events, a barbecue and town hall at Newberry Opera House in Newberry.
  (On the morning of November 29 Callista plans to visit Hilton Head Christian Academy Lower School on Hilton Head Island).
On the morning of November 30 he plans to hold a town hall meeting at Tommy's Ham House in Greenville. 

>Former Speaker Newt Gingrich visited SC on November 12, 2011.  He spoke to a political science class in Plyler Hall, then participated in a BBQ tailgate townhall with Furman University College Republicans on campus at the University PAC Center Circle in Greenville; he and Callista did the grand opening of the Newt 2012 South Carolina headquarters at 700 Woodruff Road in Greenville; and he participated in the CBS/National Journal foreign policy debate in Spartanburg.

OCTOBER

>Former Speaker Newt Gingrich visited SC on October 28-29, 2011On October 28 he led a lunch table discussion about the future of jobs and the economy at the Chick-Fil-A on Pelham Road in Greenville; and was the keynote speaker at a dinner for the Aiken Republican Club at Houndslake Country Club in Aiken, followed by a book signing there.  On October 29 he appear edat a town hall meeting hosted by the Florence County GOP and the Florence Tea Party at Bazen's Family Restaurant in Florence; (Callista Gingrich is scheduled to speak to the SC Federation of Republican Women at the Westin Poinsett in Greenville); and he attended the Myrtle Beach Tea Party Pig Roast and Meet & Greet at the Chesterfield Inn in Myrtle Beach.

>Former Speaker Newt Gingrich and wife Callista visited SC on October 4-6, 2011.  On October 4 the Columbia Tea Party hosted the Gingrichs as they screened their documentary A City Upon a Hill at the Columbia Conference Center; and they overnighted at the Governor's Mansion in Columbia.  On the afternoon of October 5 he will led a town hall meeting with residents of Sun City Hilton Head retirement community in Bluffton; and he and Callista, hosted by local GOP groups, screened A City Upon a Hill at Coligny Theatre in Hilton Head.  Early afternoon on October 6 he discussed his 21st Century Contract with America at Mark Clark Hall on the Citadel campus in Charleston.

>Former Speaker Newt Gingrich visited SC on July 12-13, 2011.  On the evening of July 12 he spoke at a town hall presented by the Charleston Tea Party as part of its "The Leaders of America" series at North Charleston City Hall, Council Chambers in North Charleston.  On the morning of July 13 he spoke at a meeting of the South Carolina electric cooperative leaders at the Charleston Place Hotel in Charleston; and he and Callista toured the Boeing plant in North Charleston.
