Liberty stands a fighting chance.

There is no THEY out there ready
to swoop in and set things right in our
nation. There's you and me. It’s up to
us to take on the burden of liberty.
We'll get a different America when we
start electing our leaders differently.

"To find real solutions to America's challenges we must deal from reality."

ECONOMY
The reality is: The United States must live within its means. Government spending must be reduced to the amount of money it
collects – and deliver fair value to the American taxpayer for every dollar spent. The time to balance the budget is now – not ten years from now.

TAXES
The reality is: We can’t tax ourselves into economic recovery. I don’t believe in raising taxes – and didn’t raise taxes a single penny during my two terms as governor. Lowering taxes and balancing the federal budget will stimulate a new era of prosperity.

DEFENSE AND THE MIDDLE EAST WARS
The reality is: The United States should only resort to military action as provided for in the Constitution. I believe in a strong
defense at home and abroad, but only in the case of a direct military threat. I supported our initial response in Afghanistan, but went against the Republican majority and opposed the war in Iraq. It is time to withdraw our troop. Now. Defense budgets and
contractors need to be scrutinized. We can’t afford the high cost of nation-building around the globe when we have a nation to build and rebuild here at home. The needs of American citizens must take priority from now on.

HEALTH CARE
The reality is: The government should not be in the health care business. Like all industries, health care would benefit from a
free-market approach providing the best product and services at the best price.

CIVIL LIBERTIES
The reality is: Many of our key protections under the Bill of Rights and The U.S. Constitution are gone. Government was never intended to enjoy such sweeping, intrusive power over the private lives of individual citizens. I’m committed to the cause of less government, greater liberty and lasting peace and prosperity for all Americans.

IMMIGRATION POLICY
The reality is: Fences and walls do not keep out illegal immigrants. Real border security means knowing who is coming here
and why. Our focus should be on making sure the undocumented contribute to our society instead of taking advantage of it.

ENVIRONMENT
The reality is: There can be no compromise on the issue of clean air and clean water. I do not support “Cap and Trade” policies. I believe in – and personally practice – responsible conservationism.

DRUG POLICY
The reality is: Despite our best efforts at enforcement, education and interdiction, people continue to use and abuse illegal
drugs. Is Chicago better off without Capone? We mustn’t turn a blind eye to the obvious parallels with Prohibition in the 1920’s – and the hard lessons our nation learned. Prohibition was repealed because it made matters worse. It’s time to apply that thinking to marijuana. By making it a legal, regulated product, we can restrict its availability, curtail under-age use, cut
enforcement/court/incarceration costs and remove the criminal element.

The trouble now facing our nation didn’t just happen.
We elected it – one president, senator and member of Congress at a time.

How much more of this America are you willing to put up with?
Then join me.
Good government is easy. Watch.
