Dear Delegate,

The Presidency 5 straw poll is just around the corner, an important milestone on the road to the White House.

Before you cast this important vote, I wanted to tell you a little about my husband Rick Perry.  I've known him since I was six years old...so over the years, I've learned a thing or two about what makes him tick.

Rick comes from modest means...his parents were tenant farmers in a small farming community in West Texas called Paint Creek.  His first few years the family didn't even have indoor plumbing.  Their washtub doubled as a bathtub...and his mother hand-sewed his clothes.

When he wasn't working on the family farm, Rick was working to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.

Faced with a challenge, he always puts his nose to the grindstone and gets to work.  Ever since we became parents to our son, Griffin, and daughter, Sydney, he's been determined to ensure they had every opportunity to pursue their dreams.

Today, America's children are saddled with record debt.  Too many Americans cannot find a full-time job.

And Washington politicians are making matters worse.

I'm so proud of Rick's record helping turn our state's economy into one of the strongest in the nation, creating nearly 40 percent of the net new jobs in America since 2009.

The principles that have guided Rick as Governor are the same principles that will guide him as President: Don't spend all the money.  Keep taxes low and regulations fair and predictable.  And free up small business to create jobs, because good jobs make the American Dream possible.

Rick understands the importance of Florida's Presidency 5.  He will work hard to earn your trust, and we both would appreciate your vote.
