Newt 2012 Announces “All-Star” Leadership for Oklahoma

Oklahoma City, OK – The Newt 2012 campaign released its “All-Star” Oklahoma leadership today with the announcement that former Congressman J.C. Watts will act as Chairman of the statewide campaign and former Oklahoma Republican Party Chairman Chad Alexander will be the State Director.

J.C. Watts and Chad Alexander have been an instrumental force in building the grassroots of the Republican Party in Oklahoma and have a history of winning campaigns in the state when Alexander served as political director and campaign manager to former Congressman J.C. Watts, Jr.

“When the stakes are high you want the ball in the hands of a veteran quarterback and a strong offensive line,” quipped Speaker Gingrich.  “I am confident that we will be well served and superbly represented with JC Watts and Chad Alexander working on my behalf.”

“I am honored to accept the position of State Director for Newt Gingrich’s campaign for president,” said Alexander. “As the manager of Congressman Watts’ campaigns, I had the opportunity to closely watch Speaker Gingrich lead the House of Representatives to historic accomplishments, including four balanced budgets and comprehensive welfare reform. There is no question that Speaker Gingrich is the best Republican to beat President Obama in November, and return our country to prosperity. I'm looking forward to being a part of the team that helps him do just that.”

Since leaving his post as Chairman of the Oklahoma Republican Party in 2002, Alexander has worked as a political consultant, advising numerous state legislators and statewide officials in Oklahoma during their campaigns.

Former Congressman J.C. Watts is currently the chairman of the J.C. Watts Companies, a multi-industry holding company headquartered in Washington, DC with operations both domestic and internationally.  He is also working tirelessly as a surrogate in many other states for Newt 2012.
