PAST NEW HAMPSHIRE SENATE PRESIDENT STEWART LAMPREY ENDORSES JON HUNTSMAN FOR PRESIDENT

Lamprey to Join Huntsman for President New Hampshire Steering Committee

Manchester, NH - Long-time New Hampshire public servant Stewart Lamprey today announced he is throwing his support behind Governor Jon Huntsman for President of the United States and joining Governor Huntsman's New Hampshire steering committee. Lamprey cited Governor Huntsman's record of job creation and fiscal management as the chief reason for his endorsement.

"Our country is at a crossroads and New Hampshire residents will have the opportunity to greatly influence which path we go down," said Lamprey. "Governor Huntsman has a record of accomplishment as Governor of Utah, Ambassador to China and Singapore and a job creator in the private sector. He has the visionary leadership we need in the White House and he is the only conservative candidate who can beat Barack Obama. I am proud to endorse Governor Huntsman for President of the United States."

Lamprey has served a variety of roles in New Hampshire government including: President of the Senate, Speaker of the House and Chief of Staff to the late Governor Walter Peterson. He also served as Undersecretary of Commerce in Washington, D.C. In the private sector, Lamprey founded Lamprey & Lamprey Realtors which serves clients throughout the lakes region of New Hampshire.

"Stewart has dedicated his life to serving the people of New Hampshire both in the Senate and House as well as the Governor’s Office," said Governor Huntsman. "I am grateful for his endorsement today and I look forward to working with him to get more Granite Staters back to work and our country back on track."

Lamprey endorsed Rudy Giuliani in 2007:

Oct 12, 2007 -- The Rudy Giuliani Presidential Committee announced today that Stewart Lamprey has endorsed Mayor Giuliani. He served as Speaker of the New Hampshire House and as President of the State Senate. Lamprey also has helped lead several Granite State Presidential campaigns.

“After taking a good look at the GOP field, I am endorsing Rudy Giuliani for President based on the strength of his record leading New York City and his singular ability to challenge the Democrats,” said Lamprey, who lives in Moultonborough. “Here in New Hampshire, we take fiscal discipline seriously. Rudy cut taxes 23 times and dramatically reduced the size of city government during his time as Mayor. He is a strong leader with a proven record of getting results who will defeat the Democrats next year.”

“Stewart Lamprey has deep experience in New Hampshire politics, whether it is with his own campaigns or helping Republican Presidential candidates over the years. Given his long and distinguished background, Secretary Lamprey’s support for Mayor Giuliani reflects the strength and appeal of Rudy’s candidacy. It is an honor to have this endorsement,” said Wayne Semprini, Giuliani’s New Hampshire Chairman.
