[Music] Male Announcer: On Tax Day, did you ask yourself

How exactly does President Obama spend your tax dollars?

Billions in handouts to green energy companies like Solyndra, which went bankrupt…

…sent jobs overseas…

…Or were risky from the start.

Now, we learn that a federal agency spent nearly a million dollars on their lavish Vegas conference, complete with clowns and mind-readers.

Criminal charges are now expected.

And in an ironic twist, the head of the agency couldn’t make it to Vegas because she had meetings planned…at Solyndra.

A different sort of gamble.

The agency’s employees also flew to Hawaii for an entire week on the taxpayer’s dime – to attend an hour-long ribbon-cutting ceremony.

What do those in charge have to say?

Jeff Neely: “On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer based on my Fifth Amendment constitutional privilege.”

Male Announcer: And the president, he might say:

Obama: “This is a pretty big government...”

Male Announcer: It is a big government. But shouldn’t someone be in charge?

Notes: The April 24, 2012 press release from the American Future Fund:

American Future Fund is taking to the airwaves with a $2 million dollar, multi-state TV buy exposing the Obama Administration’s gross negligence in mismanaging taxpayer money.  Beginning today, the ad, “On the Hook”, will run in eight states including Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio and Virginia.

The ad seriously questions the accountability of Obama Administration officials handling Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars.

On Tax Day last week, millions of Americans forked over hundreds, even thousands of dollars to the federal government.  In return, we expect our government to manage that money responsibly.  Sadly, that is far from reality.

With recent headline news, many Americans are left scratching their heads, wondering how exactly does Obama spend our tax dollars?  It was revealed that the General Services Administration (GSA), the government agency charged with fostering efficient and transparent government, recently spent nearly a million dollars on a lavish Vegas conference.  The head of the agency, ironically, didn’t attend because she had a meeting planned – at Solyndra – where billions of taxpayer dollars and thousands of jobs were lost when they declared bankruptcy.

Employees from that agency also flew to Hawaii and spent a week there – to attend an hour long ribbon cutting ceremony.

Criminal charges are now expected.  And now those in charge are pleading the fifth.

“Tales of Vegas parties, mind readers and Hawaiian junkets are a huge slap in the face to American taxpayers.  Many Americans are making tough decisions between paying their taxes or paying bills, buying groceries and medicine,” stated AFF Founder Nick Ryan.  ”Every day families are making tough decisions to live within their means, be responsible with their money and plan for their future.  Our government should be no different.”
