Crossroads GPS Launches New National TV Ad Focused on Obama’s Failed Energy Policy
New $650,000 buy hits nationwide cable TV and targeted local stations to balance out president’s energy policy tour this week.

WASHINGTON – Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS) today announced the launch of a new national TV spot focusing on President Obama’s dramatic failure to keep energy prices down, while he has instead focused on untested and naive strategies that have virtually no impact on energy consumption or demand.

The issue ad, entitled “Deflect”, will start on Wednesday in a $650,000 buy on national cable and local broadcast network buys in three markets where the president will pitch his energy plan this week: Albuquerque, New Mexico; Columbus, Ohio; and Las Vegas, Nevada.

The ad can be viewed here.  It is also available for high resolution download upon request. The ad urges viewers to contact the White House and Congress to advocate for the passage of a market-driven energy policy free from Obama’s government subsidies and interference. Crossroads GPS also launched a longer-form web-ad to complement the effort, which can be viewed here.

“Instead of delivering practical solutions to make energy more affordable, President Obama is pursuing restrictive and naïve policies that are hurting families at the pump and in their utility bills,”
said Crossroads GPS president Steven Law. “There are plenty of supply-boosting solutions Obama could adopt immediately, but he remains obsessed with impractical sideshows like algae and Solyndra business schemes.”

Since taking office, President Obama has taken a number of aggressive steps to limit energy production, which include blocking offshore oil exploration, restricting the development of American oil shale, and personally lobbying against the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.

Crossroads GPS is a policy and grassroots advocacy organization that is committed to educating, equipping and mobilizing millions of American citizens to take action on the critical economic and legislative issues that will shape our nation’s future.
