[Music] Female Announcer: America's jobless rate is
still too high. Barack Obama's got lots of excuses for the bad
economy.
Obama: ...headwinds coming
from Europe..." "...we've had a string of bad luck..."
"...earthquake in Japan..." "...an Arab Spring..." "...an
ATM; you don't go to a bank teller..." "...things that we could
not control..." "...you go to the airport and you're using a
kiosk..." "...we've been a little bit lazy, I think over the last
couple of decades..."
Female Announcer: But Obama
never blames Washington's wild spending and skyrocketing debt.

Crossroads GPS Launches New
$25M TV Advocacy Blitz on Debt and Jobs
First Ad, “Excuses,” Focuses on
Today’s Weak Jobs Report
WASHINGTON – Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads
GPS) today announced a new $25 million television advocacy effort to
urge the President to address the nation’s out-of-control debt and
adopt policies that will rescue the flat-lined economy. The first ad in
the series spotlights today’s poor employment report and urges strong
action instead of excuses in response to the country’s economic woes.
The new ad, called “Excuses,” will air on network television
stations in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, New
Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia next week, and can be viewed here. High
resolution versions are available upon request.
The ad is the first wave of a $25 million advocacy effort starting July
10 and running through early August.
“We’re suffering through one of the
weakest economic
recoveries in our history, and the only thing President Obama is
offering is slogans and excuses,” said Steven Law, President of
Crossroads GPS. “People
are hungering for practical solutions to our skyrocketing debt and
flat-lined economy, and that’s what we are putting forward in our New
Majority Agenda.”
The unemployment rate today remained unchanged at 8.2%. However,
if
the labor participation rate were the same as when President Obama took
office, the unemployment rate would be a staggering 10.9%. Hundreds of
thousands of workers have stopped looking for work during the recovery,
making the unemployment rate appear artificially low.
Today’s ad encourages viewers to promote the “New Majority Agenda,”
a pro-growth platform that Crossroads GPS developed to rebuild our
economy and clean up Washington’s fiscal mess. For more
information

Crossroads GPS is a policy and grassroots advocacy organization that is committed to educating, equipping and mobilizing millions of American citizens to take action on the critical economic and legislative issues that will shape our nation’s future in the years ahead.
