[Music] Female Announcer: Obama promised:

Obama, clip from July 7, 2008: "If your family's making less than $250,000 a year my plan will not raise your taxes..."

Female Announcer: Untrue.

Middle-class Americans face a huge tax increase because of Obamacare.

Now Obama claims Mitt Romney will raise middle class taxes.

Also untrue.

Romney's plan lowers middle-class tax rates by 20%.

Barack Obama.  Dishonest on taxes because he's failed on jobs.

Crossroads GPS Launches New TV Ad Defending Romney Over Obama's Bogus Tax Hike Claim

New spot, in $5.3m buy, calls Obama out on using “discredited” study to smear Romney as a tax hiker.

WASHINGTON – Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS) today launched a new TV ad in six states pushing back against Barack Obama’s discredited claim that Mitt Romney wants to raise taxes on the middle class.

The ad shows the false claim in a TV ad by President Obama, which relied on a now debunked study, based on hypothetical assumptions, to assert that Governor Romney supported tax increases.

The ad starts today and will run for one week on broadcast TV stations and cable networks where Obama’s ad has run – in Colorado, Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia. The ad is backed by a $5.3 million buy, and can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bd5JyCFVle0  It is also available for high-resolution download upon request.

“President Obama is shamelessly pushing a dishonest claim, based on a discredited and hypothetical study,” said Crossroads GPS president and CEO Steven Law. “President Obama raised taxes on the middle class, and his campaign is dishonestly smearing Gov. Romney to change the subject away from his own tax hikes and the economy that he mishandled over the last four years.”

The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board today condemned Obama for the use of the study, calling it part of the Obama campaign’s “serial dishonesty.”
