JOBS AND THE ECONOMY
- Established guidelines to help protect transgender federal employees from workplace discrimination
- Clarified the Family and Medical Leave Act to ensure LGBT federal employees have the same protections as straight employees

NATIONAL SECURITY
- Ended "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" so LGBT Americans can serve their country openly

EDUCATION
- Hosted the first-ever White House conference on bullying, bringing government agencies together with community members and educators to prevent bullying
- Created the Interagency Taskforce on Bullying

CIVIL RIGHTS
- Declared the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional
- Clarified the meaning of "family" to include LGBT relationships, protecting bi-national families from deportation
- Signed the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act

HEALTH CARE
- Signed the Affordable Care Act, expanding access to health care
- Implemented, then strengthened, hospital visitation and medical decision-making rights for LGBT patients and their partners
- Affirmed the administration's commitment to an AIDS-free generation, providing a road map to address the domestic HIV/AIDS epidemic by 2015
