April 28, 2011--On a three-day
visit to New Hampshire, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) spoke at a Merrimack
County Republican breakfast at the Holiday Inn in Concord.
Addressing the need to cut spending Paul said "we have to look at the
whole budget" including military spending. "If we don't, we're
just not serious about balancing the budget," he said. Paul
emphasized the need for action. "If we do nothing, entitlements
and interest will occupy the whole budget within a decade," he
stated. Paul had been subject of a modest amount of presidential
speculation, mainly centered on the story line that if his father, Rep.
Ron Paul (R-TX), didn't run he might. However, Rep. Paul launched
an exploratory committee on April 26.
