CNN/WMUR-TV/New Hampshire Union Leader Debate |
June 13, 2011--Careful readers
will have noted the absence of Pawlenty activity in the candidate
visibility area. The Pawlenty campaign did something
different. They had a barbecue at its headquarters and supporters
made
calls urging people to watch the debate. Also, note the brand new
sign above the door and another one out on the highway; they were put
up this very day. |
State Rep. Bill Condra of Wilton
(Hillsborough Dist. 4): "I've been a supporter of
Pawlenty for about six, maybe eight weeks now, and I've been giving him
some plugs on my Facebook account whenever it strikes my mood.
You know up in the top corner where it says 'what's on your mind'?"
Condra said he saw Pawlenty on TV and was impressed: "...just listening to what he had
to say. Every question that was put to him he gave an eyes on the
camera direct answer. He didn't look left, right, up or
down. No ho-hums, and I was impressed with that, and I thought
well perhaps we ought to give this guy a little support, even though
they were touting him as at the bottom of the— the back of the pack,
the bottom of the pile or whatever."
"I'm going to stick with Pawlenty for a while and we what we can do with it. I've had a number of the Santorum staff try to recruit me to their cause and I've even had some little bickering back and forth with some of them over my Facebook account." |
State Rep. Dick Hinch of
Merrimack (Hillsborough Dist. 19): "I'm thrilled to be supporting
Gov. Pawlenty. I had the pleasure of meeting him last year on
several occasions; he came up and helped campaign for John
Stephen. I was John Stepen's town chair for the town of Merrimack
and so I had an opportunity to meet and chat with Gov. Pawlenty on a
number of occasions and I was just thrilled, I am thrilled to be
supporting him. I think he's a dynamic personality. I think
he's going to show us some real leadership that's badly needed in the
White House and I think he has a plan to turn the economy around and I
thinK he understands that the number one priority is jobs, jobs, jobs."
