Travels of President Barack Obama—July 2012

President Barack Obama  First Lady Michelle Obama  |  Vice President Joe Biden  ||  Former Gov. Mitt Romney

President Obama is hitting the battleground states.  The campaign did its first bus tour, dubbed the "Betting on America" bus tour, on July 5-6 in Northern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania (+).  On July 10 he made a trip to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he struck a familiar theme in his call for Congress to extend tax cuts for Americans who make less than $250,000 (+).  On July 13-14 he made multiple stops in Virginia.  On July 16 he made a campaign appearance in Cincinnati, OH.  On July 19-20 he did a tour in Florida that was cut short by the shooting in Aurora, CO.  In the course of these travels Obama seems to doing more unannounced (OTR) stops, visiting local diners and cafés, grabbing a bite to eat and talking with folks.  Obama has a couple of big speeches; he spoke to the national convention of the VFW on July 23 (+) and is to address the National Urban League's 2012 Conference on July 25.  And, of course, he continues fundraising, doing more than 20 fundraisers during the month.
