Travels of President Barack Obama—April 2012

President Barack Obama  First Lady Michelle Obama   Vice President Joe Biden  ||  Former Gov. Mitt Romney

The general election campaign was just starting in April.  (On April 10 former Sen. Rick Santorum suspended his campaign, making Romney the presumptive GOP nominee).  In addition to his overseas trip to Columbia for the Summit of the Americas, President Obama made four significant trips outside the Beltway, visiting FL; OH and MI; NC, CO and IA; and GA.  Obama thus managed to hit a fair number of battleground states.  Note the distinction between official events and campaign events; the RNC charged there was a blurring of the lines at taxpayers' expense (+).  Obama did fourteen fundraisers during the month.
