Chairman Martin O'Malley (MD)

(elected Dec. 1, 2010; served as vice chair in the 2010 cycle) Elected Governor of Maryland in 2006 and re-elected in 2010. Mayor of Baltimore for two terms, first elected in 1999. Elected to the Baltimore City Council in 1991 and served to 1999. Unsuccessful candidate for State Senate in 1990. State's attorney for the City of Baltimore, 1988-1990. Legislative fellow in Sen. Mikulski's office, 1987-88. Field director on Rep. Barbara Mikulski's sucessful campaign for U.S. Senate in 1986. J.D. from University of Maryland School of Law, 1988. Graduate of Catholic University of America, 1985. Grew up in Potomac, MD.

Executive Director  Colm O'Comartun

(announced Dec. 8, 2010, start Jan. 2, 2011) Longtime aide to O'Malley and was most recently Director of the Governor's Office.  Prior to joining O'Malley, O'Comartun was Director of Alumni Programs at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and earlier Assistant to the Director of Development at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. He attended University College Dublin.

Political Director  Dan Sena

(announced Jan. 24, 2011) During the 2010 election cycle, Sena worked with Patriot Majority, a 527 group that worked in Nevada to help secure the re-election of Sen. Harry Reid.  In 2008 "he led efforts" in New Mexico to elect Tom Udall to the U.S. Senate.  Field director on Gov. Bill Richardson's presidential campaign, 2007.  Deputy political director at the Democratic Governors' Association in 2006.  Managed day to day operations at Richardson's Moving America Forward PAC.  Worked at Sue Burnside & Associates in Los Angeles from 1998-2004.  Master's degree from GWU's Graduate School of Political Management, 1997; B.A. in political science and economics from the University of Arizona.  Originally from Santa Fe, NM.

Campaign Director  Elisabeth Pearson

Campaign manager on Jody Wagner's campaign for Lt. Governor of Virginia, 2009.  Virginia Victory 2008 coordinated campaign director.  Worked for the Democratic Party of Virginia in 2006-07.  Deputy director of the statewide coordinated campaign that elected Tim Kaine in 2005.

Deputy Political Director  Zach Stewart

(held this position in 2010 cycle) A regional field director on Hillary Clinton's Iowa caucus campaign after starting out on Tom Vilsack's campaign.

Deputy Political Director  Zach Wineburg

(held this position in 2010 cycle) Deputy field director on John Edwards' 2007-08 Iowa caucus campaign. Kansas City regional field director for the successful 2006 McCaskill for U.S. Senate campaign in Missouri. Worked at DSCC. Organized northeastern Iowa for the John Edwards caucus campaign in 2003-04 and continued with the campaign in Virginia and Georgia. North Carolina native.

Communications Director  Lis Smith

(announced Jan. 24, 2011)  Veteran of nine political campaigns, Smith comes to the DGA after working on several gubernatorial campaigns, including most recently for Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland, and in 2009 for New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine, and Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe.  Worked on Dan Seals' congressional campaign in Illinois.  Campaign manager on Sen. Chris Koster's campaign for Attorney General in Missouri, 2007.  Press secretary on Sen. Claire McCaskill's 2006 U.S. Senate campaign.  Graduate of Dartmouth College.

Deputy Communications Director  Mark Giangreco

(Feb. 2011)  Press secretary on Martin O'Malley for Governor.  Spokesman for the North Carolina Democratic Party for the through Aug. 2010.  In 2009 served as policy director on Creigh Deeds for Governor after serving as deputy policy director for Terry McAuliffe for Governor.  Press and research assistant on Mark Warner for U.S. Senate, 2008.  B.A. in American history from Harvard University, 2006.

Finance Director  Roshan Patel

(announced Jan. 24, 2011)  Comes to the DGA from the DSCC where he spent two years as Mid-Atlantic finance director under Sen. Robert Menendez; he managed the DSCC’s national corporate PAC fundraising, as well as the Mid-Atlantic region. Deputy national finance director on Tom Udall’s 2008 campaign. A regional finance director for Bill Richardson’s presidential campaign in 2007. Graduate of Mississippi State University, 2002.  Grew up in Forest, MS.

(started in Feb. 2010 as a finance assistant)  B.A. in political science and leadership studies from Williams College, 2009.

In the 2004 cycle Metcalf served as national budget director for America Coming Together and national compliance director for the Dean for America presidential campaign.
