Ron Paul Iowa Team
Announces ‘Gun Owners for Ron Paul’ Nationwide
Coalition
Pristine 2nd
Amendment record earns Paul support
ANKENY, Iowa– The
Iowa component of the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced
today the national “Gun Owners for Ron Paul” coalition to energize
voters who value their Second Amendment rights.
“Rep. Ron Paul has justly been dubbed a champion of our
Constitution.
He works tirelessly to stop – and reverse – federal encroachment on the
Second Amendment. While other members of Congress traded their
integrity to get votes for pet projects, Ron Paul earned the nickname
‘Dr. No’ for his unwillingness to abrogate the Constitution,” said Ed
Dolan of Central City, Iowa.
“I was thrilled to have Chuck Heston as my NRA president, and I would
be ecstatic to call Ron Paul President of the United States,” said Mr.
Dolan.
Mr. Dolan is a Gun Owners of America life member, a patron member of
the National Rifle Association and an Iowa Firearms Coalition life
member.
Dr. Paul earned a perfect 100 percent score on the National Association
for Gun Rights Presidential Survey after being the first survey
respondent, and a perfect 100 percent score on the Iowa Gun Owners
Presidential Survey. He maintains an “A+” grade from the
uncompromising Gun Owners of America and an “A” grade from the National
Rifle Association.
Recently Congressman Paul (TX-14) re-introduced legislation to repeal
the federal Gun Free School Zone Act (GFSZA), misguided legislation
that has the unintended consequence of leaving schoolchildren and
adults vulnerable in or around schools in instances where a gun is used
in the commission of a crime. Second Amendment rights supporters
praised Dr. Paul for H.R. 2613, the “Citizens Protection Act of 2011,”
and for advocating for responsible gun owners to freely exercise their
right to defend innocent life against criminals – who do not observe
firearms prohibitions.
“Ron Paul has been a staunch defender of the Constitution for his
entire career. Along with that defense is his unwavering support for
the Second Amendment,” said Tim Pugh of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
“Gun owners and sportsmen have a clear choice in this election if they
want to preserve their most fundamental right – and that choice is Ron
Paul,” said Mr. Pugh, a small business owner, founder of the Cedar
Rapids Tea Party, gun owner and sportsman.
