I have known Governor Rick Perry for over twenty years, going back to our days in the Texas Legislature on the floor of the House. I’ve seen Rick Perry lead Texas as our Governor for the last decade and I believe he has exhibited the type of leadership our country is searching for. His record as Governor is clear. Governor Perry has led the fight for balanced budgets and helped create an environment for job creation even as the rest of the nation has struggled mightily through tough economic times. He knows the importance of keeping government regulation low so the private sector can flourish and create jobs. As President, I have no doubt he would be ready from day one to tackle the problems our nation faces and make the tough choices a President must make daily. I enthusiastically and without reservation support Governor Perry’s candidacy for President of the United States.
