Sept. 12, 2009--"Can you hear us
now?" The 9/12
Taxpayer March on Washington brought a very large crowd of tea party
activists and conservatives to the capital. Over 450 buses
brought people from around the country and others drove hundreds
of miles and flew in
to protest out of control government spending, health care reform, cap
and trade,
and other policies of the Democrats and the Obama
administration. [list of
speakers] A coalition led by FreedomWorks,
the National Taxpayers Union, and Tea Party Patriots organized the
march and rally, which was one of the largest gathering of
conservatives in the capital in recent decades. In addition to
this event about 200 more events were held
in 45 states.
