Nov. 15, 2010--Americans for Prosperity held a November Speaks rally on Capitol Hill.  Opening the rally, AFP President Tim Phillips said that during the campaign he had repeatedly heard the question, "Tim, do you think the Republicans have learned their lesson from the early 2000s?"  "My answer would be whether they have or not, we're going to hold them accountable every single day," Phillips said.  Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC), Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) headlined the rally, which also featured four of the newly elected Republican congressmen, in town for orientation.
Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) addresses the rally.
Rep.-elect Morgan Griffin (R) defeated veteran Rep. Rick Boucher (D) in VA-9.
Rep.-elect Frank Guinta (R) defeated Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D) in NH-1.
Rep.-elect Bob Gibbs (R) defeated Rep. Zach Space in OH-18.
Rep.-elect Jeff Denham (R) succeeded Rep. George Radanovich (R) in the open CA-19.
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) closed the rally.  "Do you know that you are the people who changed the world the first Tuesday in November?" Bachmann said.  "You have turned this country upside-down.  There's a chapter in the American history books written just with your name on it," she declared.  Further, Bachmann put in her nomination for the Tea Party as "the people of the year."  "Because the Tea Party is nothing more than recreating the spirit of 1776," she said.
