Nov. 15, 2010--Americans for
Prosperity held a November Speaks rally on Capitol Hill. Opening
the rally, AFP President Tim Phillips said that during the campaign he
had repeatedly heard the question, "Tim, do you think the Republicans
have learned their lesson from the early 2000s?" "My answer would
be whether they have or not, we're going to hold them accountable every
single day," Phillips said. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC), Rep. Mike
Pence (R-IN) and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) headlined the rally,
which also featured four of the newly elected Republican congressmen,
in town for orientation.

Rep. Michele
Bachmann (R-MN) closed the rally. "Do you know that you are the
people who changed the world the first Tuesday in November?" Bachmann
said. "You have turned this country upside-down. There's a
chapter in the American history books written just with your name on
it," she declared. Further, Bachmann put in her nomination for
the Tea Party as "the people of the year." "Because the Tea Party
is nothing more than recreating the spirit of 1776," she said.
