Dec. 2, 2010--Former House
Speaker Newt Gingrich with former Spanish Prime Minister José
María Aznar (left) and Dr. Orlando Silva (center) at The
Americano's First Annual Hispanic Forum. The Americano,
formed by Gingrich Communications "to share the Conservative message
with all American Hispanics," marked its first year with this event at
the Washington Hilton. The two-day forum, themed "The
Road to Freedom: Sharing American Liberty with Hispanics Around the
Globe" included discussions, networking and a gala and dinner.

Ambassador Roger Noriega of the
American Enterprise Institute moderated a lunch discussion on "A Truly
Bipartisan Agreement on Development of the Hispanic Community."
The Americano is one example of recent efforts by
Republicans and conservatives to reach out to Hispanics. For
example,
today the Heritage Foundation launched a Spanish language site
called Libertad. In the recent midterm elections, Republicans
achieved
significant gains, electing Susana Martinez governor of New Mexico,
Marco Rubio U.S. Senator from Florida and four new congressmen:
Francisco Canseco (TX), Jaime Herrera (WA), Raúl Labrador (ID),
and David
Rivera (FL).
